Tks for the beautiful video. Going there this winter. Since the whole place is covered in snow, how to avoid stepping into a snow-covered roadside ditch or pond? Hope you can reply. Regards.

No need to worry as long as you stick to the roads everyone else is also walking on. 👍

Were you there in December? Do they have so much snow in Dec usually?
@didibryan11 ай бұрын
We went in late Jan last year. 2023 was a bit warmer than usual, but there was snow towards the end of December.

Planning to go there by February 1st week. will be a snowfall during that month? I hope to get an answer from yoi.
@didibryan10 ай бұрын
Yes there will be snow during Feb, but this year has not been great in terms of the volume of snow overall in Japan.

How much does it cost staying in the houses? And where to buy ticket for to see the lights?
@didibryan6 ай бұрын
It cost us ¥16,000 per person to stay one night. It will vary a bit depending on the lodge you stay at. To see the lights at the top of the hill or in general?

@@didibryan can you share how you got tickets for the desk/hill? thank you.
@didibryan6 ай бұрын
The tickets for the observation deck came with our overnight stay. We booked that through the reservation site on the main website when it opened up.

Going there on this 18 February, but still confused with the system 😹. We bought a hotel in takayama. The question is, can we still see the light up event (at night)?.

Do you have a parking spot reserved or a bus tour reserved?
@dunialordoren10 ай бұрын
@@didibryan yes we have
@didibryan10 ай бұрын
Then you should be able to see the light up event, but you might not be able to go up to the observation deck unless you have a separate ticket for that as well.

Is it easy to from Osaka ?
@didibryan11 ай бұрын
Osaka is actually closer than Tokyo! The best is probably still to take the train to Kanazawa station and then from there drive or take a bus.

What are those bell-shaped things @1:45?
@didibryan11 ай бұрын
Those are actually rope from the shinto shrine called shimenawa.
@woofinu11 ай бұрын
@@didibryan I read that those ropes are used to separate divine space from the outside world, but could not find an explanation for the shape. Do you know?

It's beautiful, but it must be hard to live there. It's isolated and looks pretty cold.
@didibryan11 ай бұрын
It's not actually as isolated as it looks as just outside the village is another small and larger town.

From your video, the village light up view was not as colourful, striking and magical as those pictures on Google search. I'm also going to Shirakawa-go this Apr.

Yeah... Our camera is probably not the best in low light, but some of those photos could have been touched up. It still doesn't take away seeing it with your own eyes 😁
