This is the type of instructional i need. Everyone just does the teardown or testing. Some of us need comprehensive layout of the actual setup. Ty

Very useful information. I have what would likely be called a micro power plant right now. I am looking to build it over time cut my present power use. The power company I am under in the NW has just gotten another 8% hike in what they can charge. Since I am on a fixed income every penny counts. Thanks for the video.

Some utilities will allow grid tie with feedback to the grid with the original UL1741 only, not requiring the newer UL1741SA or UL1741SB. This inverter does support UL1741 via setting 34. If your utility requires only UL1741 you can set this inverter up for feedback to the grid (net metering).

So does this 8kw can actually give power back to the grid? Is there a technical difference from the bigger ones in that regard?
@jimw.322526 күн бұрын
@@Mateo27007 I'm not fully understanding your question. I can tell you this inverter is UL1741 compliant and does have settings to feed excess power back to the grid (for net metering). The main setting is #34. This inverter is not UL1741SA nor UL1741SB compliant so if your utility requires SA or SB you would not be allowed to turn on the feedback function.

@@jimw.3225 I see, because I am installing this outside the US, so I am just concerned it physically works correctly, has the ability to do so

@@Mateo27007 Yes, the 8kw model can push power back to the grid. Setting numbers 1 and 34 controls that. When your solar panels are producing excess power AND setting 1 is set to "UTI": If setting 34 is set to "MIXLOD" the excess power will NOT be sent to the grid. If setting 34 is set to "ONGRID" the excess power will be sent back to the grid.

Very interesting review. This may work for my solar needs. Thanks

nice work, i use the 10KW 48v model and have had no issues. 12x450w sunpower gold perc panels in series on 2 legs and 20kw redodo battery backup. good unit to lower electric bill and have stand by back up just in case.

I am still thinking about that review you did on the Vterun SB100H solar battery. Its given me all sorts of great ideas. Thank you!!

Great video. Would you do a video about about a good but cheap kit of inverte + charger + battery. Thanks

Love your channel but I have seen several commenters (not necessarily on your channel but elsewhere and on retailer sites) mention that Sungold does not stand behind their product when there is a warranty issue. So while I found this video interesting, it is frustrating for shoppers to be unable to trust companies with their hard earned money.

Have not found Sun Gold P ower to be anything but excellent in both tech support and warranty issues.

Could you do an update on the powmr 48v system? Maybe a video on charging rack batteries from a generator safely?
@ReeWrayOutdoorsАй бұрын
@rigidchop on that unit you could wire a TT30 inlet box ( amzn.to/491qXeQ ) to the AC input on the inverter. Then, plug your generator into that box to provide charging power for the rack batteries.

Nice review. Is it loud at low/moderate use? Would you be willing to wire to grid to test the UPS feature? I just want to keep my house running during grid outage. Thanks.
@ReeWrayOutdoorsАй бұрын
@vanvee88 it's not quiet to the point where you'd want to put it in the main part of your house, but low/moderate loads or when charging with 1kW+ it probably about 56dB and closer to 65dB at full load.
@ReeWrayOutdoorsАй бұрын
@vanvee88 oh and yeah I can do a quick test on that. I'm confident that it'll be sufficiently quick at switch-over

Are you able to share links to the battery and pv breakers you use?
@ReeWrayOutdoorsАй бұрын
Sure. Here's the rack battery: shrsl.com/4qlxn the 25A DC breakers: shrsl.com/4qlxn and, in case you were curious, the 200A battery breaker: amzn.to/4fzZFhU

@ReeWrayOutdoors thanks I think the first two links are the same

I'm confused by the pricing. I can buy this inverter for $1800 ($1500 holiday sale) or I can buy a 8000W inverter attached to a gas engine for $1200 (regular price).
