For those of you coming to this video because you're worrying about how you're gonna do.... Don't. It is the easiest thing in the world. It's the most BASIC of BASICs Go, Stop, Turn, Gears, Mirrors Signals, Headchecks, Rudimentary knowledge and that's about it. You'll do fine. I did mine in terential rain riding a bike for the first time in over 10 years since I was little and had a TY80 trails bike. Passed. You'll be fine, don't worry. Have a little faith.

the worst part about learning to ride a bike is getting affordable insurance, it's surprising you're allowed to learn at 16 to ride a bike when insurance costs a fortune then you get to 24 and above and it suddenly becomes affordable

Did my CBT on Friday last week when the wife surprised me with it as a birthday gift. She followed it up with an Aprilia 125cc motorbike too. Bit daunted about going out on the roads on my own but I know that after a few trips out my confidence will grow.

@@lc.18k Nice bike mate. I hope you have as much fun with yours as I have had with mine. It's surprising how fast 60mph feels on a bike - i'd go quicker but i'm a bit of a chubster. I need to lose a few pounds to get more speed out of it. Have you ridden anything before or will the Yamaha be your first bike? Make sure you post again once you've had a chance to get out on it - i'd be really interested to hear how you find it. :-)

It's made me much more aware of motorbike riders. I'm also very apprehensive when I spot cars waiting to pull out. Had one almost pull out in front of me tonight but had my hand on the break just in case.

I passed my test 1988 didn’t have a cbt then . I didn’t realise the bad habits until I wasn’t allowed to take my first part test until I was up to standard on the road even tho I been riding 18months no training up to that point . So it’s s good thing just think the A2 license and retake again 2years later it’s going to far already learned the road craft and passed the test

Hi, this pooped up in my feed as I’m looking to do my CBT in the near future…you mentioned your left hand was hurting because of the clutch…I’m a bloke, but like half the size of you so just wondering (worried lol) whether your pain is because you were on the bike for 8 hours or the fact that the clutch lever / biting point was /is quite heavy? If it’s the latter, can this be changed? I never thought of getting aches and pains from using the clutch lever (or twisting the throttle) but I have literally matchstick arms hahahahaha so just wanting to have a rough idea of what to expect pain wise on the day hahahaha That aside, great video,,as a car driver I wish it was compulsory for everyone wanting to learn to drive must be made to take their CBT, as well as learn to ride a bicycle and spend time in a HGV cab etc so they truly get an idea of how spoilt they are in their metal box. (And I say this a a massive petrol head! As drivers we take one test, and then can drive anything from a G-whizz to a Bugatti with not extra tests, and we can keep driving on said license until we’re 70(?)….compared to bikers who need to to pass different tests based on the power of the bike they want to ride.
