Bayo 1 and 2 were different characters to bayo 3. So in 1 she ended with luka (hense viola) bayo 2 seemed like she got with jeanne and bayo 3 was luka again.

I feel Bayo 3 was a co-op game that got downgraded likely because the switch couldn't handle it and the pandemic kept them from optimizing it to work . All the concept art has multiple characters. Some of the arena are way bigger than you would need even with the kaiju summons. It's weird that in a game with a second protag they only fight together in like two verses, not even in the finale. It would have been tag climax from bayo 2 but in the main story.

Damn the third game really fucks with the plot of the first two games huh. You can really tell none of this multiverse shenanigans where planned out in the first two games.

Yet we lost all that to self-insert mary sue Luka romance. Truly one of the of all time.

I just came across BBC World video about "A simple guide to chaos theory" that is actually explaining about The Butterfly Effect. After watching that video, i think Kamiya is actually trying to tell us the Butterfly effect of sending back little Cereza in Bayo 1 that resulting in a lot of alternate Bayonetta creation. Funny how Butterfly is the main concept of Bayonetta as she made pact with Madama. And keep in mind Butterfly Effect is Chaos Theory and Bayonetta 3 world sets in "The universe of light, dark and Chaos" where Bayo 1 and 2 sets in "the universe of light and dark" In nutshell, the butterfly effect explains that a small change that we do will result in big impact in the future. Butterfly effect makes uncertain phenomenon a.k.a Chaos in the future which Singularity hate. Go watch the BBC video and i think it resonates very well with Bayonetta 3's story. Eventhough, i still don't see the importance of Viola and Lukaon's existance though. The fairy thing is what this game meh.

20:13 unfortunately, it seems not even the characters knew, because even if Cereza was supposed to have known because of her time in Origins, she reacts to Strider for the first time as if she's never seen a faerie in her life. It's a major inconsistency that continues to bother me, and idk if i could take any answer of "well the cereza in origins isn't the same as bayo 3". Because Multiverse shenanigans we're left speculating whether the character we've been playing as throughout the games up to 3 is even the same person anymore, and if thats the case, then why should anyone care what happens to any of these versions of bayo if they're just gonna get Dora-the-explora'd to death (can ANY of these bayos look behind them oml)

unnecessarily long text about how I think few things would have made Bayo 3 better written(almost 2 hours typing this lol) Multiverse Plot: Loptr's trips to the past to fix his failures when facing Bayonetta and Balder and then stealing the world's eyes made him go to other eras and build other situations, thus creating the multiverse, which could be vast, not infinite, it would be something "innovative" in this cliché and Loptr would still be important in the story. Not leaving Loki aside, he would have created the Ginnungagap that would stabilize this temporal catastrophe, making it so that Heaven and Hell would not have alternative versions, the last thing he could do for the humanity as a god. Antagonists: they already have Buddhist and Hindu inspiration and details, 1 point for the designers and writers. Based on this, the homunculi could be a "humanity 2.0", they would be the same consciousness that spreads across many minds, but this still allows them to have their own wills, personality and thoughts, there could even be a rebellious homunculus that would easily replace Viola's role. This opens space for real interactions between Bayonetta and bosses like Iridescent Core, Pyrocumulus (wich I headcanon as a villain with a "Bill Cipher" personality) and others, as well as giving a cool ability to the homunculi that would allow them to transfer their knowledge and learning to others, making Bayonetta less unpredictable in each battle. Singularity could be trying to be the new Aesir of the realm of chaos, studying and exploring the magic of the fairies to create the homunculi and somehow acquiring the futuristic knowledge of the witches and sages to know how to create and handle such technology. And no Queen Sheeba or Loki coming to help/being summoned, 1 more point to the writers. Loki destroyed the eyes of the world for this, to let humanity take care of their problems without gods in the middle. I could talk about Jeanne, characters power level and Singularity's hability, but i dunno how many people will even read this

Crikey didn’t realise Bayonetta had a big story following. I always treated the cut scenes as silly but fun narrative glue getting me to the next fight. Will have to play them again. Had such a good time playing 3.

Bayo fans never had high standards for story, they messed up 3 things for me; 1. Killed beloved protagonist...over and over and over again. 2. Stuffed the content (enemies, levels, demon forms, multiverse, story, etc) of 10 games in one. We could've had sequels for decades from these. 3. Reduced overpowered infernal demons to mare minions. One punch from Madama Butterfly used to be OVERKILL. They used to be like bringing a nuke to a bar fight. Now sperm cells can put her out. Shame. Fairies were better enemies too. Still a great game though.

I will say as much as Loptr and Singularity aren’t that well written, I still prefer Loptr because he has a manipulative approach to making Baulder do his work for him. Loptr was a reasoning for the umbral witch lore and such. Despite that he was kinda barebones, Loptr arguably did better than Singularity despite the fact his motive wasn’t that well. Hell even the fact that being trapped inside young Baulder was the reason that bayo1 Baulder was the way he was

It would be cool if in Bayo 4 that: instead of foucusing on Viola it could be foucused on Cereza, Jeanne and Luka trying to scape Inferno. Fighting demons and the bosses could be its princes! And also having Gomorrah finally dead, beacuse she deserve it...
