As a game, I wouldn't place it high tbh. Too clunky (probably intended though) and repetitive imo. As an experience though? Definitely top of the shelf. The soundtrack alone makes it a 9/10. Then the minimalistic approach to the story, the mystery/ambiguety, the immersive even if empty (or perhaps because it's empty) world, the art design... Piece of art no doubt.

Great reaction. I heard this in 2005 as a 15-year old and every single time I listened to it, I closed my eyes and "directed" films in my head with this track. It's a different kind of beautiful and it's my opinion that this composer is just as great as the classic historical ones, with the only difference being he's still among us. You should definitely have a listen to Akira Yamaoka's work for Silent Hill 2 and 3 as well. If you start with "Theme of Laura" that's a great place to begin.

The Epilogue revisits a motif that played during the opening cinematic of the game, particularly the string and flute arrangement toward the beginning. Its cadence is slightly altered, and it evokes a different emotion than it did at the beginning of the game. I'm not musically educated so I can't explain it the best, but hopefully you know where I'm coming from.

Hey! Thanks for listening to my request! I’m glad I’m able to spread beautiful music to more people. You are correct about the name of the song. As “Epilogue” plays, the final scene plays out along with the credits. As far as a game having a song that feels like a farewell and a thank you. The Final Fantasy X “Ending Theme” and “Suteki Da Ne (Orchestrated)” fit that description perfectly. If you’re interested in reacting to that game, I made a comment on your Final Fantasy XV reaction highlighting some of the best tracks from Final Fantasy X.

Seeing those reactions are making me so happy omg, i hope you play the game one day, how they tell a story by itself and build more on the nuances of the game is insane. On such a subjective game the songs helps to tell it's story and even foreshadow what comes next on a very meaningful, symbloic and surprising ending. Hey there! I thought you might be interested in giving Shirou Sagisu's work a listen --- he's the composer behind the massively (in)famous animation Neon Evangelion series. His work for a "rebuild" of the animation series, specifically, are worth noting for its energetic, epic, and often melancholic sounds. The last of the quadrology of the Rebuild series is coming out soon in Japan, and I think your reaction video should ring relevant to a lot of people. Some tracks that I recommend are: - God's Message (from Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo OST) - The Final Decision We All Must Make (from Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance OST) - At the Very Beginning (Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance OST) - Angel of Doom (from Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone OST) Stay safe out there!

I understand what you say about feeling like the developers are saying goodbye in this song. This is great and probably the best work of Koh Otani. Another game you should listen, althought is really different because it's definetely not an orquestra soundtrack like this one, is Undertale. If you do react to Undertale soundtrack, keep in mind that both the game and the soundtrack is mainly (99%) work of one totally amateur dude, Toby Fox. He created, programmed and composed the entire game, which is a simple game but so succesfull and well received. In this game, the last song in the credits definetely also feels like the developers are saying goodbye, because in this case, it's the same guy! Haha It's hard to say which is my favorite song from Undertale, but it's between Ghost Fight and Spider Dance for sure. But most people will say Megalovania is the best song.
