It’s perfect for telling that particular fight’s story, starting off with the bird taking off with you on it, raising your adrenaline, the drawn out notes coming in when the player finally gains his composure and tries to take it down while holding on for his life.

XD even if it's a matter of opinion, I'd say it's a pretty safe claim to make, considering the game has a Cult following, and the game itself is just SO much bigger then itself with it's story and mysterious lore, and being such a unique game, in that you face giant bosses and explore an amazingly huge world... but then it manages to remain somber and emotional the entire time, not to mention... AGRO!... FEELS MAN! And if a piece of art can invoke feelings... that means it's GOOD art

Yes, so have I! Imagine it from the beggining, You jump towards this huge bird creature that's coming at You, and as You smash into it, You hold on for dear life, feeling the colossus start to climb, You look down and see the ground structures getting smaller and smaller, while You're getting higher and higher. You start to make your way up the colossus's wing as it starts to flap. You violently shake, almost getting thrown off. You made it! You're on the wing! But then You look ahead, and see a 50' wing span, You look to your left, and see a 100' tail...you're going to take this beast down, and then it dawns on You: you're going down with it. The attack starts now. Decidedly, You plunge your sword into the wing you're on, blood gushes out. The creature shrieks and does a loop, trying to shake You off, and You use all your strength to hold on. You slip and fall, abd contemplate your death as You look down, but are saved by the other wing as it completes the loop. After piercing the other wing with your sword, the time has cone to run towards the tail... 100 mph winds blow through your hair, your clothes, and your soul, as You make haste for the final blow. The wind pushes You along, as You take in the view. Vertigo doesn't begin to describe the feeling of treading a smal, undulating tail at a 100mph. The icing on the cake is, You've had thia aong in your head all along. The final blow is at hand, but that, I'll lave up to You...

I've noticed how a lot of the colossus battle soundtrack contains a part when you can feel Wanders struggle, why he actually is doing this, when you are reminded that he has lost someone dear and is willing to to Anything in order to get her back. Listen too~ 3:17 I feel his pain.

Man, I remember listening to this song in-game while fighting that particular boss (won’t spoil). The whole OST is awesome, but the despair you get from this one and the epicness that comes along with it definitely pumps you up to accomplish the protagonist’s goal. I suspect you might have actually seen gameplay footage by now but in case you haven't: the version used in the game has slightly modified opening and endings to permit looping; also, as with all shadow of the Colossus themes, you hear a theme while you try to figure out the way to conquer the colossi and then a different theme kicks in once you carry out the plan. This is the theme that plays when you go on the offensive, i.e. once you've figured out the way and are executing your attack on the colossus. Transitions aren't always pretty, if ever, but the idea was neat in my opinion.

Its truly an amazing soundtrack. Like I said before..."all great soundtracks are like their own character". Its one of my favorite OST's ever. Ever hear that whole argument "video games can't be art?" those people have not heard of great games like this. You have found everything so impressive and this is ONLY the music. What is the story? For me the greatest game soundtracks are this game (Shadow of the Collosus) and Okami. Okami's soundtrack is a JOURNEY. When I get married..I want to be married to "Reset (Thank you) version" would love to hear your opinion on it. Great video and you have interesting thoughts on music. Keep up the great work.

Your not watching something......your playing....you have control thats why I have always thought games have so much power to their music. They have to try soo much harder than movies because....well its all animated. Honestly there are very few movie scores I can remember......but with games? You mention the title and I can instantly remember the music. It defines the game......all bad games have Terrible scores but all good games have amazing scores. Some games are awful....but have amazing osts and some have great gameplay but awful scores.

I played this game like 16 years ago, and the music and the atmosphere. Still one of my favorites hands down, I would recommend some music from there other game ICO if you get the time. "You were there" is a pretty decent one, if you get time try the games out in the future. You won't be disappointed
