The 1996 HBO Gotti movie with Armand Asante was excellent. There was no need to rehash the same tired old mob story everyone already knows everything about.

That reminds me of the case of the HBO Tuskegee Airmen TV movie in the late 90w with Laurence Fishburne as the lead character. That movie Red Tails with a major movie production and ridiculously-huge marketing campaign behind it fifteen years later was an inferior product. I’ll never forget that scene with the black jail prisoners in the field being “oppressed” by the guards to make way for the plane’s emergency landing only for a black pilot to hop out, and the black prisoner says with tears in his voice….”dem cullid flies.” That one scene had more heart and weight then the entire Red Tails movie.

Go to college or a trade school after high school. Take every city/town government test while in college/trade school - (civil service, police, fire department, garbage, water department, etc.) If you are able, try to start a small business while you are going to college and working your job. Also try to go for higher education like a master degree if you can, if it helps you. If you take police/fire/civil exams, take them in more than one area. Take those tests in your immediate area and any surrounding areas. Your local town hall / government buildings will have more information.
