Anita, "I'm tired" is an IC, but "because I'm tired" is a SC.

Because the first time you mentioned the sentence "I'm going home, because I'm tired and I need to sleep" you called it Compound Complex and the second time just Complex, I got confused. It makes sense that, when following a subordinate clause, the coordinator conjunction "and" also functions as a replacement of the subordinator conjunction; however, that only raises more questions. To which combination of sub and coordinators does this apply? If to all of them; then, how to form Compound Complex sentences with the structure IC+DP+coordinator+IC?

Let me explain... It is not just"I‘m tired".It is "because I‘m tired". As because is a subordinating conjunction,the sentence becomes subordinating clause.

One IC + many SC's is not a Compound Complex Sentence. . The implied parts cause me some head-ache. Needs 2 ic's to be a CS. I beginning to get all the options . Thanks ..

Thanks, now I understand and though my teacher says that since we are in third grade we don't need to learn about it but I'm in focus were we do work for higher grades almost all the time ( actually we don't) so I have permission. Probably what I wrote is ununderstandable and in an incorrect form.
