I had a brush with POCD in high school while working at a summer camp. Was not debilitating but definitely latched and hung like a lead white. Since then it has transformed into harm and existential, with some others making brief appearances over the years. Spent several years with DPDR but that has thankfully not locked in in a long time. Thanks for sharing.

One of the things that I do to get a compulsion over with fast is to do the compulsion a few times 2 or 4 times but fast, I call it fast forward like when you fast forward a VHS cassette ) I try to avoid doing compulsions, but if it's not possible I try to do a few of them fast and speeding through it ) best thing is to not do the compulsions but if ya can't try doing it super fast kind of like fast forwarding a VHS cassette very fast to save time, keep trying to cut down the compulsions everyday and make em smaller and less long👍🏻

Keep in mind that we've got imperfect minds and People with ocd have a chemical imbalance in the brain, don't be too hard on yourself, our minds are not perfect, remember to be reasonable and fair with yourself, because we're our worse critic, over time it gets better
@aguywhohikes1271 Жыл бұрын
Hey Sebastian - although there could be a chemical imbalance that doesn't really matter. What drives OCD are irrational beliefs, compulsions, and avoidance behaviors.

It's not easy to cut down and get rid of compulsions, ocd is challenging
@aguywhohikes1271 Жыл бұрын
Yes - but it's possible

Sometimes try not doing it at all or do different things, switch it up, fire different sequences in yer brain, try only doing a few small compulsions and another trick or thing to help is to think of positive edifying words and songs with righteous and virtuous lyrics to stay postive, think about how Jesus Christ knows and understands us and knows our heart and mind👍🏻✝️
