How would you enter reservation mode on a push to start vehicle with an electronic park break?

Very good question. For all of the manual transmission vehicles I have done over the years I have yet to do one on a pts style ignition. What is the year, make, and model. I am assuming if the vehicle has the option to do pit stop mode it would work just the same as a key start vehicle. E-brake on, press pts button, exit vehicle, and lastly lock the car and engine should shut down. May have some additional parts needed for the electronic e-brake depending on polarity?

@@hawkinstallations4764hey Hawk, I got a question. I’ve installed a lot of compustars but this is my first one on a manual. It’s a PTS. Does the wire for reservation just go to ebrake negative?

@chiefofmoney7491 depending on what the remote start does as far as convenient features you may not have to wire anything. What remote start brain are you using? What vehicle is this on? If you're doing a compustar, it's probably going to be something along the lines of a blade AL module that may read e-brake, all your door status wires for you, along with tach.

Hello, I usually use the firstech wiring hardness. This allows for not much use of the blade wires. Yes, I am trying to connect the blades light blue e brake wire to the e brake of the car as per the manual for the CMX.

What option setting is this? Mine shuts off 10 seconds after closing the last door (Honda Element).

What Brain are you using?? On the cm7200 unit with newest firmware it is feature setting 2-14 and 2-15. Settings 2-14 is set to option 4 and settings 2-15 is set to oprion 2. hope this helps.

I just bought a 2020 wrx that has the Compustar and I’m curious, do you have to do the reservation mode everytime!?

Yes reservation mode would be required if your looking to be able to remote start it. If your not going to be remote starting the vehicle then it does not need to be done. Best way to setup reservation mode in my mind is parking brake 2 times. On manual trans vehicles your normally always setting the brake anyways. on-off-on the take the key out and lock as your walking away.

@@hawkinstallations4764 I have a 2020 wrx and just seemed odd to have to do that everytime you leave the vehicle. I wasn’t sure if there was a way to start a manual car another way without having to go into reservation mode everytime. So thank you for the fast response!

@@stevethibeault1100 I am assuming you're trying to bypass it so then you can test functionality? Depending on whichever compustar brain that you're using just program it as a standard transmission vehicle.

@@hawkinstallations4764 I just think the procedure and the way they do it isn't ideal my thought is to program this thing and find some kind of signal wire in the vehicle that can tell it when it's in neutral realistically that's all it should need to know I want to be able to open the door without having to go through the reservation process again
