Learn how to run a 6-2 volleyball rotation (both serve receive and service rotations) and learn what the concept of base positions of defense is.
Watch my other video on how to run a 5-1 rotation here:
• How To Run A 5-1 Volle...
For another great video on 5-1 serve receive rotations, I highly recommend Elevate Yourself's explanation - • Serve Receive Rotation...

Liberos are allowed to serve in the US, but not internationally. Just replace the libero serving instead with the middle serving to make it correct, hope that clears things up!

If you’re not an experienced volley ball player (like me) something as simple as this can feel very overwhelming... However, this is probably the easiest and simplest video I’ve found on a rotation... and I will gladly drop a like for that! It took me a bit, but I understood more and more... So thank you for A. Doing this video calm and cool B. Explaining thoroughly and C.making a video about a 6-2 rotation 😃😄👏👍🏐

If you want a simpler 6-2 (less advanced) then you want to simply pull back your RS to receive instead of maneuvering your OH to pass, then bring your setter as close to the net as possible.

Because the setter is backrow, he (she) could end up having to pass, and then he (she) couldn't set the ball, so why their base position is in the backrow?

Thanks to Haikyuu, I got a huge interest in Volleyball as well as it's positioning and detailed explanation about Serves, spikes, Block (Kill And Soft), setter, and also Libero can set the ball to the spiker/setter to smash the ball but he has to jump before the middle line, otherwise it'll be illegal... To be honest, I really had no idea until I watched Haikyuu as well as Play the game in College!!! Also, great explanation from your side about rotations!!! Keep up the great work... 👍😊

The rule change with positioning from 2021 makes it even easier to go to base positions after serve. Many people don't know about that in 2024. I suggest everyone looks that up as well after having understood these rotation systems.

Last year I was on a B team, which the rotations were really simple. Three in the front, three in the back, and we just rotated. This year, I moved up to the A team. Your presentation is really good but your information is a little out- of- date. Since liberos generally go in for the middles in the back row, they have what you call the middle (in the back row) play left-back on defense. Hence what you call the outside hitter (in the back row) plays center-back on defense in most current defensive systems. Additionally, if the setter takes the first hit, the libero takes the second ball to set. You may want to consider making an updated video noting that the libero generally goes in for the middle in the back row (and a defensive specialist would go in for an outside hitter in the back row ,thus distinguishing the difference between the role of a libero and the role of a DS). I only bring this up because you do such an excellent job of illustration the roles!

Daughter is outside hitter usually starts front left. I didn’t see in this video I don’t think. But there is a time when she’s in the middle front and the coach slides her back middle row. When would that be? During serve/receive? Then sometimes when she’s front right the setter pulls her outside but still in front of her and then when the ball is hit, my daughter has to run front outside left. Can’t figure out though when she does this. During service or defense or serve receive?
@Mdtatct
@Mdtatct 3 жыл бұрын
So her rotation starts like this. She comes in the game front left. Sometimes on the net. Sometimes drops back to 5 then runs up and ready for attack. Then she moves to front middle. Sometimes runs back to the left and sometimes moves straight back to cover middle. Then rotates front right up tight against a girl then hurries to front left on contact. Then rotated back to serve. After she serves. She’s supposed to run to back row far left. Trying to learn what her team is running. But sometimes I get confused.

10:52 first off, this video is really helpful especially for beginners; great job! However, did anyone notice that my guy used a cough as a transition

Idk if might have missed it but did this actually show when the setter would take the hit and the backup has to take the hands? Unless you are still in heavily organized play for college, or professional/international, most normal leagues you play will have hitters that usually aim corner are hard cross which most likely will end up near the setter. So unless you are coming back to block he/she from touching the ball at all there is a high possibility the other team will aim for your setter so they don't get a chance to set the ball. So their outside might aim line and their right side will aim cross. Obviously this all changes with power hitters and Olympic style, I don't think anyone will question that.

You will get it with time!! It takes time to learn but then it will become natural. Also once you practice it in real life, that will really help solidify it a lot more!

Hey, I just wanted to say that this is such an amazing video and it cleared up a lot of my doubts! I really love the animation as it helps me to clearly visualize! However I do have one question.. at 17:29 you have the outside hitter serving in serve rotation 1, shouldn’t the setter be serving?

I am going to play my first volleyball game on Sunday! I wonder if OH1 and OH2 have same rotation? Cause when OH1 comes to the back line he/she will become like OH2 and take OH2's base position right?

if the setter doesn't pass then how is the lineup set up after a service? The setter is almost hidden from the first service but if a rally continues then how do you continue to hide the setter so the setter can set instead of passing?
@jenniesjoblom4858
@jenniesjoblom4858 Жыл бұрын
You don't hide the setter in defense. If the setter passes in defense someone else steps in to set, oftentimes the Libero.

Great video Doc! I just wanted to clarify something - if the setter in the back row is the one who sets for that play, does this mean the setter can never dump?
@annabeccett9203

Well not exactly. If the setter is up at the net, then yes….. but they can’t jump it it will be a “back row” attac

Love teams that set the MB when they are Out of System. International professional teams do it all the time. Easy way to keep blockers from helping on the pins & giving your pins more one on one attacking opportunities.
