What a really great quote from a really great movie! But what is more ironic, is that it was told in the movie, but I do not think it was in any of the stories written by Robert E. Howard, who created the character of Conan. What is even more ironic is they did not tell the actual story of Conan in that movie.

@@GothicElf68 it was written by Howard, its known as the Nemedian Chronicles. It was used as a prologue for some of the stories. "KNOW, oh prince, that between the years when the oceans drank Atlantis and the gleaming cities, and the years of the rise of the Sons of Aryas, there was an Age undreamed of, when shining kingdoms lay spread across the world like blue mantles beneath the stars-Nemedia, Ophir, Brythunia, Hyperborea, Zamora with its dark-haired women and towers of spider-haunted mystery, Zingara with its chivalry, Koth that bordered on the pastoral lands of Shem, Stygia with its shadow-guarded tombs, Hyrkania whose riders wore steel and silk and gold. But the proudest kingdom of the world was Aquilonia, reigning supreme in the dreaming west. While this game has had it's ups, and downs, one thing that has been constant is it's soundtrack, which is one of the best, and does a good job of immersing you into the game despite the game's flaws.

Gods, love it. I'm sure it's the same for all of us. Our 1st time playing, not knowing anything. Moving about the river, taking it all in with this music going. Finally figuring some things out, building our 1st base, home. The Sandstorm is no longer a threat. Neither is thirst or hunger. The 1st tables and craftsman. Gear, supplies. All that, new and alive, with this music as the backdrop....

The degree to which this game is beautiful to look at is truly incredible. I mean that. So many aspects of this game are fiddly, annoying, or outright broken, but it's so pretty I keep coming back to it. I think that's one of the signs of an abuse victim, isn't it?
