When I first heard about how he had shown up for his army physical after a week of shitting and pissing in his pants, I thought (not being a big fan of the Vietnam War) "Well, a bit extreme, but certainly dedicated to his cause." and I kind of admired him for that, but, after he suddenly became a big defender of the war and wasn't just an avid hunter, but a full-blown asswipe about it, I knew he was, again, as you said, "...this hyper-angry rightwingbot." (aka, MAGA troll). Particularly bothersome to me about Nudge is his rampant racism and my fervent wish is for a nice big grisly bear to sneak up on him one day and give him the what-for; leaving nothing but a foot in a boot.

well... economically he is liberal. He's just a conservative liberal. The opposite of liberalism is either authoritarianism, socialism, protectionism or for example communism. The opposite of conservative is progressive. He is not progressive. He is also not regressive, unlike some conservatives, as he doesn't support going back to some old ideal (e.g. Make America Great Again) but rather he is a conservative who is non-regressive in that he is only trying to maintain status quo, not change it back into something it used to be. Just keeping things as they are. Not going forward or backward. The opposite of conservatism (regressive or otherwise) is not liberalism. In fact they have practically nothing to do with eachother. There are also non-progressives in the Democrats, just like there are non-liberals in the Republicans. There are non-liberals in both parties. Bernie is technically not a full socialist, but his policies also make him non-liberal. That's the issue with a two-party system.. A lot of these ideologies aren't linked and were never supposed to be conflated together. Now people don't even understand what these political terms mean.
