We need more badass Christian anti-heroes. Seriously, there not enough of them.

I really wouldn't classify Kane as an anti-hero. He's courageous, moral, principled, and does good for the sake of doing good. "A hunger in his soul drove him on and on, an urge to right all wrongs, protect all weaker things, avenge all crimes against right and justice."

Thank you for your insightful commentary. I've always admired the Solomon Kane character and all adaptations of him. How wondrous that it took an American from Texas to bring him to life.

Howard also wrote horror stories in the vein of the work of H.P. Lovecraft (he corresponded with Lovecraft).

Nice. Didn't know that. Even Solomon Kane stories were grimdark as hell sometimes.

I feel like that sorta gets forgotten despite the fact maybe one of his more famous creations is a giant eye with tentacles

Really well done I don't know that Howard was saying that other races are not more developed but at the time the location was not.

It was consistent with scientific and pseudo-scientific theories of that era, such as the concept of theosophy introduced by Helena Blavatsky. Howard was recognized for his avid reading of books that advocated for these theories.
