I have never in 25 years had an issue with a cop I open carry a pistol everyday in Michigan I have never had an issue while doing it and as far as the whole fidgity thing and reaching around iv been pulled over multiple times I reach over to my glovebox grab my papers go in my back pocket grab my Id never once have I even been questioned about it alot of them appreciate being ready to make it quicker on them so you BOTH can go about the day

I honestly can't argue with this, generally speaking; idk if it's one of "the worst"... but it's up there. The post-discharge was rough to hear (I have a buddy cop; I showed the blue line pin). That he ran a "pink" light is a no-go starter for me, anyway. Not always. I've been pulled over a few times myself. True, sometimes they assume it's because of past legal trouble, sometimes it doesn't help and actually does make things worse, but it never hurts to inform them. I carry a pocket knife. So I tell the officer "I don't conceal carry, but I do carry a pocket knife." So the officer usually asks "how big is it and where is it located?" So I tell them "it is about 4 inches long and it is located..." (I carry it in different places, so I tell them the current position) true, some people say that you don't have to inform them of a pocket knife as it isn't as dangerous as a concealed carry, but you can very easily stab someone with a pocket knife. So I like to inform them so it puts them at ease. But even though I inform them every time, I have been drawn on several times. And I do not mean the taser. 😂

I believe it is common that you are not supposed to enter an intersection when the light is yellow, which means you may well be illegally in the intersection when it turns red. When entering on the green light and if it turns yellow there is no reason to stop you. The officer was correct to stop him. If the state has a law requiring the wearing of a seat belt and you are stopped for some other reason and if the officer notices you are not wearing a seat belt they can write you up for that as well.

I live in the state of Florida, and I do conceal carry myself, but my only problem with him is the last thing you want to do is to be shuffling papers and so forth as the police approaches your vehicle, I would much prefer for him to keep his hands on the wheel and wait for the officer to finally approach him and he can ask for permission to start doing that. He's obviously not a lawyer but you don't want to alert anything to the officer that can cause him to be on edge. I hope that he uses a different approach when being pulled over at night time because that can be a whole different story, you do not want your hands anywhere else but on the wheel until you start to talk to the officer, It makes things a lot easier and smoother

As a responsible CCW holder it's our responsibility to IMMEDIATELY notify the officer that we're armed, it's location, and if it's in battery. If the situation escalates before you can tell them and it's found later on, the officer could potentially have a reason to be suspicious of you.

It's not a crime to have a cop suspicious of you. If your state has no duty to inform law and especially you're not asked if you have any weapons on you, no need to reveal anything, that's your right. People need to remember their rights with law enforcement and not just try to placate with police thinking they'll have their best interest. If a cop wants to search you or car always say I don't consent but don't resist. If you're interacting with cops especially if you did do something wrong, don't answer additional questions, say I plead the 5th and am remaining silent.

I have advice for everyone when stopped: don't immediately unbuckle, there's a chance the officer might not realize you just unbuckled to reach for documents; don't immediately start reaching for documents because they don't know what you're reaching for.

I have been a concealed carry holder since 1996. In that time I have been stopped twice for speeding. Both times the officer"s (both motorcycle) first words were "good afternoon, sir. Do you have your weapon on you?" I am a retired Law Enforcement dispatcher and I knew he had run my plates thru dispatch and they told him of my CCW status. I replied I was, we talked guns for a couple of moments, I got my tickets (no professional courtesy), and we were on our way. I hated getting the tickets but, I believe, we all made the experience better by being courteous to each other and not doing anything stupid!

When I get pulled over I have all my windows down and my hands on the wheel and I greet the officer with a friendly hello as he approaches to put him at ease. I do not disclose I am a carrier since my weapon is in console unless asked. Also in IL we do not have to disclose. If I am going to reach for ANYTHING I state that to the officer first while looking at him and wait for his acknowledgement before. With that said I find in about 50 percent of my pullovers they let me go since I am respectful and because of my actions. Finally if I'm in a state where I must disclose I simply give him my Conceal ID with my license.

I work in an industry where we work with our hands often. I certainly dont wear my ring and I dont think it's very common to do. My wife is okay with it. I also work on my cars and with wood and metal and I dont even werlar a watch anymore, last six years. All my life and I quit. Love not wearing a watch.

First time on the channel, loved the video and respect how you handled the situation. My brothers a sergeant in the highway patrol and man I've been on more rode alongs than I can rmemebr and IF you are cool with the officer they are generally greatful and cool back. That simple. And good move on the CCW and being clear and open with him. They're good people , working for next to no pay and risking heir lives because they want to serve and protect. U can make a lot more money doing anything else that's not life threatning but they don't because they are generally good people , a lot that are ex-military taking a skill to a civilian job. Good video brother!

As a courtesy I tell them I have a concealed carry. Never had an issue with it. I've never been pulled over for the light changing before I exit the intersection either. May be good luck. May just be okay to do here in Kansas. I'm thinking if you're into the intersection on yellow that you're okay. Many people are turning left on a green but waiting for traffic to clear. Meanwhile the light turns yellow. The intersection is now clear and since they are half way into the intersection, they proceed through the turn. What's the law in Kansas? I'll read up about it. I got out of a ticket because a cop saw my SNES classic in the backseat. We started talkin about video games while I looked up my Proof of Insurance and he gave me a warning. Cops are nice if you're nice to them.

Usually, when I get one ticket, a second one follows within a few months. About 9-10 years ago, I broke a long string of no ticket driving. Got stopped for not wearing a seat belt. Not a biggie, not a moving vioation, paid the ticket. About 5 years ago stopped for speeding. Cop paced me going about 50 mph in a 35mph zone. It started off cordial. I asked him not to give me a ticket as my record was clean (or so I thought). He said he won't give me one if my record is clean and I don't have any tickets. About 10-15 mins later returns with a ticket for speeding, citing prior seatbelt violation. I honestly forgot about that seatbelt ticket and by that time it was more than 3 years since I had it, and it wasn't a moving violation. Oh well, lesson learned. Paid the ticket and admitted guilt. Then, about 2 months later, coming back from work, I cross the white shaded area on a highway and a cop was waiting (must have been a common occurrence). He gave me a moving violation ticket and I had to hire a lawyer to avoid having two tickets on my record, as a third one within a 12 month period would have been an automatic 90-day driver license suspension. I fucked up on that last stop though. When the officer stopped me, he went back to his vehicle, stopped about 20-30 feet behind mine. He was gone for maybe 5-10 mins and I thought it was wise (what a dumbass I was) to get out of my car and go ask him not to write me a ticket. The cop started yelling at me to get back in my car, which freaked me out. Looking back at a situation, I'm glad I wasn't shot and killed for it.

Pro tip when getting pulled over. Turn off the car. Put the keys on top of the dash. Keep your hands on top of your steering wheel until the officer asks for your information. And don’t greet the cop with “What’s up!”

I have yet yo be pulled over when aopen carry in Washington state although i had a amazing interaction with a female sheriff while open carrying during fishing she didn't ask me any thing about my gun she just asked for id and fishing license and said good luck she was very professional about it i hope they all go that way i need to get my conceal carry

It's my understanding that if your front wheels are in the intersection before it turns red they'll pull you over for a warning but you're still legal, just a little close and they want to keep the streets safe.

I got pulled over, mind you it was my first time ever... I rolled through a stop sign in 2nd gear of my car. The cop tried to say I was speeding as well and questioned me if I had anything illegal in my car as she looked around. Mind you I was polite the whole time, yes ma’am no ma’am and still got a ticket. Not all cops are bad but not all are good. That is not the only bad incident I have had with cops before.

If he was still in the intersection when the light turned red, that indicates he should've had enough time to stop while it was yellow prior to entering the intersection.(It's how lights are programmed) I don't agree with that, because there some around me that i've entered on green and it turned red before I fully exited.
