💗Concha recipe💗 food coloring 4 cups of flour 3/4 cup sugar (mexican cane sugar) 1 cup warm milk 1/4 cup butter (melted) 1/4 cup lard or shortening 2 room temperature eggs 1 & 1/2 tablespoons of yeast 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon mexican Vanilla blend add yeast to little bowl add spoon of sugar add some milk (1/4 ish cup?) add butter to lard (melted) get big bowl add 4 cups of flour add sugar pinch of salt whisk it all crack the 2 eggs in bowl add butter / lard mix add milk mix puddle a little bit add yeast to the warm puddle add vanilla add cinnamon kneed dough add dough to different bowl lined with oil saran wrap it let rise 1 hour to 1 hour and a half (double in size) in oven with light on fondant part--- 1 1/2 cups flour 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar or confectioners sugar 1 1/2 cups shortening or lard mix all together with hand squeezing put on cutting board and kneed (if u press it in and still sticky, add more flour) put flour on board and cut into 4 section add colors get dough put flour down on board roll dough / kneed cut into 8? conchas roll into balls put on baking sheet on parchment paper flatten the colored fondant into circles to lay on top of conchas and add design BAKE AT 380° FOR 18-20 MINS let rest for like 15 mins

Alexis Ikr!!? It was the very first thing I noticed after being obsessed with the fact that she is making Conchas!! One of my childhood favorites, but we moved and it was 15 years before someone opened a bakery in a nearby town for me to have them again as no one that I knew at the time had the recipe and the internet wasn't mainstream, but it opening allowed me to be able to share the greatness of them with my husband, my kids, my nieces and nephews and of course my siblings and my mom! My dad having passed, so just Mom to share with of my parents but it is all good! We know he is in a good place, and just recently his little brother joined him! His Dad is also with him while Grandma is still here with us!! I love cooking for my family which means everybody because I consider everyone my family even if we haven't met yet we're family in my heart, and cooking for everyone with love is a huge way I share my love with everyone!!! Cooking with love kicks everything up a notch, makes it all taste better!!! I could make two of the exact same dishes side by side at the same time, and put all of my love into one and not care about the other as I season and go through the recipe, doing everything the same, but without adding love to one and everyone would be able to tell the sometimes drastic difference sometimes subtle difference between the two dishes whatever they may be!!! So, I always cook with love, becuase I do love everyone and I want the best for them in all things and I want their food to nourish them and taste great and if I can accomplish it, to make it the best they have ever had!!! Not in a competition with the other chefs or my pride just simply out of love and giving the most and best I can give. As I cook with love, the love becomes part of the food and the person eating receives that love as they eat the dishes I prepare!!! Lol!!!! I'll stop talking now, lol!!!

Love this recipe. I tried and they didn't come out perfect , but were still delicious. I don't think I proofed the yeast properly. My son didn't mind, came home from school and yelled Conchas!
