I did what you just did 6 days a week for 7 weeks when I was 13 and 14. My uncle owned a construction company and instead of going off to camp or laying around doing nothing my brother, 3 cousins and myself would work 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday we each got 100 bucks a day plus all our food, snacks and drinks were free. Me and my brother were the biggest so we either carried block, brick, stone, bags of mortar mix or wheelbarrows full of anything we were told to do. It was fun 'nd 1983 and 1984 100 bucks a day which went into our savings pass books for college. Definitely didn't have to do off season strength training for football.

There is a simple trick to getting anything living in the piles to exit quickly by using mothballs. 24-72 hours before you plan to move a pile of anything you think something is living in simple toss in some mothballs and simply let the smell of them drive anything out. They are also useful to throw into spaces you want to have them avoid like under a porch/deck that is near the ground in the last month or two before the weather gets cold to keep them from overwintering around the house and in rodents from wanting to try to get into the house.

Rather than carry them that far, why not use a wheelbarrow or a wagon? Fill it up, then wheel it to wherever you want the blocks. Fill the barrow/wagon wheel it to the truck. Then refill it at the house and wheel it to the footings. That saves a lot of carrying the blocks back and forth. Infact, if you have two, set up a production line. One of you fill the barrow, the other empty it, then swap the new full for the old empty, and just keep going.

That is not fun, and DEFINITELY hard work. A couple of years ago, we were renovating our landscaping. Jordan had surgery in the middle of it all, so every day, I'd head to Lowe's and get 2000 lbs worth of 40 pound bags of soil. I'd move them from the shelf to the cart, the cart to the truck, the truck to stack in the driveway, and the driveway to the spot where it would be emptied. Then I'd sit on the ground and cut the end and lift it vertically upside-down and smooth and shape it. All day, every day for weeks. It was a big job moving 2000 lbs of soil 5x every day. I feel ya, guys. Eat a few extra meals a day, and get some larger shirts, 'cuz you're gonna be ripped by the end of this. Love you guys, and hang in there. It will absolutely be worth it in the end. It'll be glorious. It really will be.

@@staceystrukel1917 Yes. I have fibromyalgia, lupus, kidney disease, liver disease, and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. If at any point I couldn't go on, I didn't have a massive pile of dirt in my driveway until the next year.
