Its a reall rough old thing that the cab looks newer than the rest of it . Unusual to see an fh volvo globetrotter cab on a mixer wagon . Shel be a different beast once shes all blasted and painted . I know a guy up in fife who does breedons stuff mick riddle at ladybank hes allways ususally busy . It was an old clemco blaster i was using filled the pot with a bag it wasnt a great thing it had seen much better days . It did the job in a fashion . U couldnt really adjust anything it was on or off lol .

yeah, mixer drums start to rust when you start to chisel the concrete out with an airhammer. I've seen mixerdrums on trucks that were 4 years old with pockmarks... Concrete trucks are hardly small, here in the Netherlands we run with 4 or 5 axle trucks. between 40 to 50 ton Gross depending on set up.

Haha I always try to keep away from moving equipment but if I stand so the drum cannot pull me in I feel confident enough to do my usual day dreaming 😄 I don't have to concentrate if even the small steps like that are taken

Big truck this 1 on the smaller ones I can get drum and chassi done in a days worth of work. We'll all depends if they leave big chunks of concrete onit. Most concrete trucks I do try to knock the big thick bits off with a hammer or needle gun to keep my speed up. Less time less costs 😊💞

Cdx650 it's good for 260cfm @ 100psi

I used to Paint cement trucks for cemex and would paint them the same way, with the barrel rotating.

I got told to have the drum rotating away from the chassis what ever side I'm at that way it cannot pull me in 😏 that will always stick in my head couldn't fink of a worse way to go 😳

Why did you choose not to use the Dustless Blasting system for this job?

To make for an easier clean up the slurry would sit in every nut and cranny and that would take along time to clean off and I still won't be 100% sure it's was ready for paint 👍 this way only needed a blow off and it was straight in for paint 👌

There is quite a few sq feet of surface area on those buggers, At least ya could get it rotating, ya gotta get a move on to keep up, LoL. Have Ya eva had to do the inside of one, now that is a pain in the butt..

Yeah big job like. Always try and have the drum turning away from the chassis that way if you get court up ya not going in because that thing won't stop turning 👍

I've use a combination of different blast pots & compressors and made my own pot the best off some and added them to mine and so on also engineered my own part that totally transform the blast pot builds. Just waiting to get it protected so I can offer it up for sale. I've put this on the back burner for now tho as it performed perfectly for around 8 months now its hit a few niggles that need ironing out I have a some were parts that's not lasting need to rethink some of it

Is there a nozzle that would be able to blast a bigger area? This feels like you are washing a skyscraper with a toothbrush!

Governed in the UK with the driving licensing I'm more or less maxed out with the compressor/van equipment. If I upgrade to class 2 (wagon none articulated) I've the upfront cost then I've to upgrade all to most of every aspect of my rig then the running costs of a wagon and bigger cfm rate/ derv it uses more sand. I will only gain 2 to 4 hour but operator fatigue will increase so possibly not worth the investment. In my opinion I've no experience running a bigger rig on a daily basis.

Yeah I'm optimised to peak performance with the rig I'm aloud to run before having to upgrade alot of my setup 😵 it's still alot better than sanding by hand haha 😁👌💞
