With the cordless drill, the key to drill into concrete is using the right bit. Get something likes Bosch Hex-9 or Unika BJ and don't expect too much from the drill. My experience is the longer the bit spinning and the more struggling you are to make the hole, the more problems will happen. You may ended up with a ruined bit, a toasty hot drill, and a much wider but shallower hole than required. Probably also a question of life choice =))

Nice explanation, thank you. I have also noticed that my drill got too hot in this 3-minute experiment, and yes cordless drill hole was much wider (although just 2cm deep) than the hammer drill hole. I also think it’s a better solution to invest in a proper hammer drill if you have more frequent “concrete” jobs 👍👍

You should wear protective glasses while drilling. Drill bit can break and injure you

I agree, it’s not safe to drill without protection, I have experienced an eye injury while drilling into a ceiling. But sometimes, in a hurry, you can easily forget to put it on. So yes. Always wear protection!
