For sandstone pavers it is pretty good analogue. Not sure I would want try situate any pavers. Some of them would last longer than concrete texture.

That is a pleasant upgrade. Thanks for the video and the professional work. My opinion, is the home-owner could have used the money for a different home-improvement project. But everybody has different desires. I would have wanted the porch larger with the step wrapping all the way around or even a partial decorative wall, or room for a chair, etc. Maybe wheel-chair accessible, if there is not a good wheel-chair entrance to the house. And maybe make the sidewalk slightly wider especially near the porch. But I would not want to live in a house, no matter how fancy that did not have a covered front-porch, at least above the walking area. I label these kind of projects, as "keeping up with the Joneses." It is a never-ending game. I would never want to live in a neighborhood like that, especially with an H.O.A. telling me my sidewalk must be 36 inches, etc.

Nice. I am always shocked at how little most contractors think about the use of the work. All my walkways are HIGH to make sure water runs AWAY. Diving the edges of the saw cuts is MANDATORY.

I just had my three-car driveway and walkway replaced about three months ago here in K.C. I am still so impressed with the work that was done. They also put a sealant on the concrete which makes it kinda glossy, which I really like. It cleans so easily. $16k for my job. Worth it to me! You guys did a great job!

Tom, sometime it would be nice if you could spend a little time at the ready mix plant and go over the things that they must do to make your job successful for the challenges different jobs present. I remember years ago talking about a 3 bag or 5 bag mix, slump and other terms. I'm guessing the science has come a long way since then. Maybe not a full video but a segment tied in with a job. Hard to do since you are part of the crew but would be very interesting.
