The "lowly" Condor Bushlore has become probably my favorite and most carried knife these days. The "spear point" design has grown on me and it's the perfect balance between being too pointy and too obtuse (like you see on a kephart type blade or something like a Blackbird SK-5). I use it for everything from opening boxes and mail, to fine construction job related tasks, to all things outdoors and bushcraft to even as a hunting and fishing knife field dressing animals. I'm not usually big into scandi grinds (I have tons of Moras and the like), but the Bushlore pulls it off perfectly between blade width and primary bevel angles. It just works so well on this blade. I'm usually more of a full flat grind kind of guy but this one has impressed me. While Condor fit and finish can be spotty at times, I find Condor knives get an undeserved bad rap. They are good knives and the steel is plenty decent and very hard use. The leather sheaths are some of the best out there for the price. For my Bushlore, I put a polished zero scandi grind on it with whetstones and then strop on a convexed micro bevel. Perfect combination for screaming sharpness while maintaining edge retention and durability. I sanded off the silly coating on the sides and am just going to let nature take its course with use and natural rust and patina over time. It's a carbon steel blade with a wood handle. It's a knife that rusts very easily and needs regular maintenance....but I enjoy that kind of stuff. It really gives you a better connection and attachment to your blade and these type old school style knives are kind of a book of your travels and adventures as they "record" them in stains of the steel or little chips/dings here and there in the handle. I don't like things hanging off my hip so I carry the Bushlore "arctic" or "baldric" style with a cord cross my chest and under my coat when I need that on. A little too heavy for hanging directly off your neck as a neck knife but cross chest carry is perfect. Nice review and it's a great knife! And another point is if you accidentally lose it or it gets stolen....it's not the end of the world unlike losing some couple hundred dollar custom.

Got one a few years ago. Love it. With the newer better grind with sloppy ricasso they used to have. However they had stopped to press theier logo and it was laser ingraved. Only complaint is that the index finger is a little to far away from the edge, so guard is to big. Love the 1075 with this blade thickness and grind, blade profile, bevel and handle

I own several Bushlores and they are great knives. They used to be in the $35 range, but now are around $50. I teach wilderness survival and bushcraft classes and have never been disappointed with this knife. Yes, one can easily spend two or three times the amount of money for a bushcraft-style knife, but if you are on a tight budget this knife is a great choice.

You can use that lanyard for the pinky method, so the knife can't go forward.

Condor bushlore is $60 now. BPS makes nearly identical knife for half the price. Sheet is similar plus you get a dangler, and you can customize handles. And heat treatment is more consistent. 59-60

sir..the cord is long enough...here it is calculated to be used only for chopping with a grip on the end of the handle...here, for example, only the middle finger and the ring finger are inserted..so it is enough to thread only two fingers according to the grip

My biggest complaint with this knife is the sheath. I’m left handed. Then I saw the aqua-lore 14c28n. I love that steel it’s like carbon steel that doesn’t rust. Meaning it has all the benefits of carbon but stainless. Plus it had a kydex sheath. Well same day mora Garberg pops up with the multi mount sheath $55 . Which way would you go? I love joe flowers and that design really calls to me. Just don’t like what I hear about condor. I’m not willing to waste $60+ on bad heat treatment or poor fit n finish. I’ve seen many people say condor has soft steel. So what’s your opinion? Back 6 maybe 10 years ago I trusted KZbin. Nowadays people say whatever so they can get free gear. They shutdown real channels and paid a bunch of ass kissers like Gideons tactical. He has new stuff every week and never says anything real. He’s a paid shill. Good for him he’s getting free stuff but actually believing anything he says. Jimislash I watched him because he kinda tested coldsteel now he’s a spokesperson. Suddenly everything coldsteel makes is amazing. KZbin is dead I try and watch small channels but really it’s hard to believe anything. Sorry didn’t mean to rant was waiting for coffee and went on a sidetrack. Lol I do love that design might get the BPS version give that a go .

I couldn't find one for 35 on Amazon. I saw them for 45 or 47, but I try to avoid Amazon because I hate Jeff Bezos (I know, yeah, yeah, he sold the company) I still hate mega global companies. Good review though. I should have bought one of these when Sportsmans Warehouse sold them for around 40 or 45 bucks years ago
