Keep in mind that this carrier will carry either full BALCS soft armor or Ceramic plates or BOTH! Much heavier, but that is why the sides are the way they are.
@Front-Toward-Enemy5 жыл бұрын
Im willing to bet almost all of your problems came from carrying 15 magazines and not simply from the plate carrier. You comparing the weight of this carrier to other carriers which you have half the ammo load out. So yeah this carrier will be heavier if you have alot more ammunition.

Amen. That was the first thing that popped out at me.

the condor exo is a fantastic carrier, I use it as my emergency response carrier, extremely comfortable and lots of space.
@philfortner18054 жыл бұрын
Nice video and vest! You carry 15 mags and spare ammo? Plus, radio, pistol, ifak, hydration...heavy!!
@1stOPFOR12 жыл бұрын
i have a condor cross draw and it is flimsy but if you run the strap that holds the pistol in the holster through the molle it makes it extremely secure and thats running a full size 1911 in it.
@SEWashingtonTactical12 жыл бұрын
I agree with you that it is bulky. I have it in multicam and that thing is a sweat factory in summer heat but all body armor is one way or another.
@Ghostrydr197211 жыл бұрын
I run the Condor MOPC because I'm a skinnier guy, but I still had to modify the cummerbund to fit tighter. Also, the front panel has strong Velcro so everything is stable. I play airsoft to field test my set ups and so far I'm pretty happy with it. Price is about $220 with all my pouches.
@CaptainBerz12 жыл бұрын
Not attached, in the pic in the video of me in AZ you can see 4 double stack fireforce pouches on front, I recently changed it around. I run a "battle belt" now as well, so no need for all that top heaviness. But I cannot wait to get the Tactical Tailor Fight Light PC, very light and functional....

Is the Defender not made to give you an option of running wrap-around Kevlar and/or Plates? I think that's why it's so thick in comparison to the VooDoo.
12 жыл бұрын
I know I bought the Condor Operator's carrier and the plastic buckles snapped after a year. Why Condor thought it was a good idea to include plastic buckles on the pressure points of the shoulder, I will never know.
@CaptainBerz12 жыл бұрын
You can put a kevlar insert in front of the AR500 plates to combat the spalling. They are heavy, I would recommend SAPI style plates if you are going to use them with frequency....
@tomb25143 жыл бұрын
But SAPI in general is NOT DESIGNED for multiple impacts and crumbles.

Well done Berz. I've not been impressed either with Condor brand PCs. You certainly get what you pay for with plate carriers. I love my Eagle Ind. carrier though....unfortunately, I've transitioned to all Multicam & (OCP) the Army's version of MC. I have the IOTV, which is bulky and heavy, but provides excellent protection. I keep the Eagle Ind. PC around as a back up or for use as a buddy rig. Great review...are the big two front pouches permanently attached to the Condor PC?
@CaptainBerz12 жыл бұрын
I am not the expert on that. I know the a good amount on armor, but not enough to provide a good video with in depth discussion, IMO. I only do videos on what I am well versed in, and reviews on things I have tested. But thanks for the idea. Hoss knows a good deal on it though.

How do you like those ar500 plates? Why did you choose those over ceramic? Do you do anything to mitigate spalling? Informative video. Thank you.
@tomb25143 жыл бұрын
Spalling is what happens when concrete is allowed to dry out over time. Fragmentation is what happens upon impact when the bullet disintegrates hitting you in the chin and neck. The build up coating of AR500 plates is actually very good.
@tomb25143 жыл бұрын
Also when you think of fragmentation, the correct design removes the energy of a projectile and drops the shards in the carrier or vehicle door as in the product called Spectra Shield used in ballistic sheeting. FYI, for those who want to argue from their couch, I am CEO of large Safety and Security Consulting Group who specializes in anti-terrorism products, ballistic vehicles and Executive Protection.

Seems bulky using the 100D. I am going to be testing out the Tactical Tailor Fight Light PC, that used 500D Cordura. Super light, and TT makes good shit, so we will see. The Eagle looks heavy like this Condor IMO.

"Un-Needed" is an opinion. I submit that if you try this with BALCS armor only, you might think differently. I also don't think it is fair to compare it to something for TWICE the price and half the material, whereas, if I didn't GET MORE, I'd be truly upset. I would definitely agree that I wouldn't take this in theater, for I don't think it would last and it is far too cumbersome to put on/ take off.
