As a Secaucus native and someone who lived there when Apex 2015 happened, this is actually insane. The parking garage collapsing was definitely an unfortunate event, but it was also a blessing in disguise. Sparked major changes to that area of the town that were seriously needed. And yes, that hotel is thankfully closed and it was long overdue when it finally happened.

My favorite Apex fire alarm conspiracy theory is that it was a wannabe good samaritan who realized that the hotel was in no state to hold the event and wanted to stop things and alert the authorities before something else happened. Idk if you care but sprinkler systems don’t have smoke detectors in the sprinklers themselves. The fire marshal typically has to come to reset large alarms. So to say that the fire marshal pulled it or that the same person that pulled it had already contacted the fire marshal probably isn’t the case
