I find it incredibly funny how both Melee and brawl Ganon are some of the most broken characters in their games, but Melee ganons bugs miraculously up his attack speed to save the character and make him viable, meanwhile Brawl ganons bugs make him so slow with Jumping lag that’s so insane that he will be the first to die in a horror movie!

I think Smash team is afraid of altering characters too much from game to game out of fear of fans getting mad at the changes. But considering that Ultimate is Ganon’s 4th game in a row as a psuedo Falcon clone, I’d love for them to just completely remix his entire moveset to have more inspiration from his actual games, along with like around half of the cast. Will they ever have the courage? Only the golden goddesses know

I still maintain that the Japanese were right about Jigglypuff being the actual worst Brawl character, Brawl Ganon can at least get decent punishes and has players that got some decent wins/placements compared to the other horrendously bad low/bottom tier characters of Brawl (or in the case of Fonz, actually once won a real tournament before). A complete travesty of a character regardless though.

Add to that Diddys side B and up B goes farther, tethers are free recoveries now, Olimar gets his new up B, Bower’s goes significantly higher, Lucario’s goes much farther, and more plus no edgehogging basically makes edgeguarding unviable. Everyone goes for 2 frames or ledge traps instead now.

Fun fact: Interestingly, many files in brawl are effectively glorified spreadsheet data. This means that it’s very possible that sakurai himself made a mistake with the tools he was given by developers that ended up with Ganon having that whole 55 frames of endlag @ 9:12, rather than some random intern responsible for developing moves. We modders know it as a scripting language specific to move programming, but it may just have been something different 👀

Ganondorf is by far the worst represented character in Smash. His moveset has almost nothing to do with what he does in his home series and is still cloned off of a completely different character from a different series, and he's consistently been one of, if not the worst character in every game since Brawl.
