These are great lessons thanks very much for the efforts and tips. Little things are so important. I'm in my 4th year now and where I live there is not very often best conditions. I think that it's so very important to cover that aspect of this topic. Having a great remote lagoon where it's knee deep and where there are shores on either side... Also where there is no wind shadow in all directions , where there are very few people... no trees or houses and snags or sharp puncture objects when damage could happen to body or kite. Where I live (North Carolina Oak Island) is nice but I'm not in the OBX where it's ideal. It's often crowded with beachgoers and I have to wait for them to clear out. Doing all this once a month is not enough to get good fast. SO ! I'm going very slowly. I have already had a couple broken ribs and some friction burns from being dragged. Had to chase the kite down a few times and that was really sketchy. In an extreme sport there are often accidents and it takes some time to get to know the ropes. Getting lessons from a very good teacher is so important in the beginning the more the better. I think you are a Great teacher I don't mind the accent.

Just because it felt natural I have used my hand on the other side of the bar when it steered to far on the side my hand was on! I could see how this could be a bad habit but works for small adjustments 🙌

Thank you very much friend for your teachings. I am from Cordoba, Argentina. I have paid for 2 courses in my country and with neither have I learned what I have learned with you. I hope to go to Las Terrenas one day to share a kitesurfing session with you. Thanks to you I now feel safer out of the water. If you could tell me what to do when you are walking along the beach and you run out of wind and the kite is heading towards the power zone. What should we do ? Thank you so much
@kitesurfexperiencebypetar Жыл бұрын
Hello Eduardo, I'm so glad to hear that you find my episodes useful, thank you :)) When walking on the beach and your kite starts falling in the power zone this most probably means that your kite is back stalling(pulling too much the bar) or front stalling(suddenly no tension in the kite/Lines).. if you are not sure what is Back Stalling and Front Stalling make sure to watch my episode right here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYarZoF-prGaa7M Often the cose of back stalling and front stalling is lake of wind, so the idea is to make fake wind in the kite by running UP WIND, as your face will feel more wind the kite will feel more wind too. If the kite went already too deep in the power zone and once you start running up wind you might get an aggressive pull so in case there is a lot of obstacles next to you maybe is better to use the Chicken Loop Quick Release. Analyze your surrounding and decide what is the best thing to do ;)

Bro, do you host courses in the Caribbean??!! I had a class today with a coach in cabarete and he didn’t cover even 10% of this and was very impatient!!! So I gave up because he was very frustrated and aggressive!! Would love to take a class with you!!!

Hey Anas, I would love to help you.. but unfortunately at the moment I’m in Europe, I will be in Las Terrenas, Domenican Republic giving kitesurfing lessons from mid April on. If you think that you would be able to visit Las Terrenas during the summer, please send us an email so we can arrange for you everything you need :)

Yeah I can never get my cabrinha to park at 12 o'clock, it just flys over my head and then falls out of the air.. But I live inland and have to kitesurf on lakes so it's really gusty, and anywhere I park it it won't stay..

Is it always a good idea to open the chickenloop the Kote is doing a deathloop?
@aarongregorio2327 Жыл бұрын
I remember that could also be a bad Idea depending how your lines are going around the bar
@kitesurfexperiencebypetar Жыл бұрын
If you are in danger it's definitely a good idea to use the Chicken Loop Quick Release without hesitation, even if the lines are twisted around the bar, the worst that could happen is that if the center line or all the lines are way too much twisted around the bar, that the Safety Line cannot slide out so the kite is still having tension, in this situation if you are still in danger you want to release also the Safety Leash Quick Release.
@aarongregorio2327 Жыл бұрын
But when I have time, it‘s better to pull in on the other backline very hard. So the Kite will stall
@aarongregorio2327 Жыл бұрын
kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJKpfHiNeq2hbM0si=ZxBmHyjOv86RE924 i found the video that I had in mind. There is one more case where the Kiteslines are tangled around your harness. In this situation using all safty systems won‘t help.
@kitesurfexperiencebypetar Жыл бұрын
If you are able to disconnect the Chicken Loop Quick Release you want to definitely do it, but yes if there is the bar or the floater stuck somewhere around your harness and you see that you cannot use the CL QR, or after using it the kite still goes in death loop you want to also disconnect the Safety Leash Quick Release, if even this doesn’t make the difference then is necessary to do the procedure of pulling the other back line as this guy explains it in the video. But remember ALWAYS first use the safety systems if possible 🙌🏼

7:27 I thought front stalling means it falls down behind you (on the front tube) and backstalling means it falls down in the power zone?
@kitesurfexperiencebypetar Жыл бұрын
Hey Eva, yes it is correct what you are saying, The front stall is when the front tube of the kite goes behind you, so if there is no wind at all the kite would fall more upwind of you or on your had. So front stall always starts with your kite going behind you(upwind of you) but if there is still some wind, the wind will gently push the kite falling in front of you(downwind of you) without having any tension in the canopy of the kite and the lines. There is another episode I did about “Basic Aerodynamics of the Kite” that might help to understand better.
