I work at a startup and for the last month, I've been evaluating different prototyping tools because we were never happy with Figma's prototyping features. I had three requirements and every tool I found never hit the mark. We needed the tool to work seamlessly with Figma, generate production ready code for our developers and must utilize variable and conditions. In this 1 keynote, y'all meet it all plus more and we didn't have to buy a new tool. well... to be fair that's been the microsoft play with windows and office forever, along with a tacit agreement of "yeah please pirate your way to photoshop and we'll never bother you 'til you actually get to make money out of it" from Adobe and it's worked exceedingly well for both of them in creating a captive audience ^^

Make sure the design is inside a section and not a frame. It doesn't work with the latter.

This is live. Currently by default it works property-by-property, but there is an experimental setting to enable the entire block like this-if you open up the Figma for VS Code extension settings and enable "Autocomplete Blocks: [Experimental] Get multi-line code block suggestions"

Confusing how they express the feature plans. "Every editor" gets dev mode? Why can't they just say every paid plan get's dev mode? Or do they mean you have to have some sort of editor status in some sort of rights hierarchy? Is editor a customer status?

Yes, on a paid plan you can of course also have "Viewers", which can't edit the files, but inspect and comment on them.

Figma doesn't want to limit (or dictate to) developers on what code is right to use. However, at the 41:00 mark, you'll see that Figma has introduced Dev plugins which can generate more detailed code depending on the platform you're building on
