This is one aspect of one of my build plans nobody understands. Trying to keep that flat foot shift not just for the shift speeds but also the power delivery. Combined with the right gear rstios and gearing plus the right powerband you can keep cornering speeds high as possible but still have good power for the straights and power transfer for both.

Such a great channel. Thank you so much for the educational videos. I love when you get into the real nerdy stuff lol. Thank you and keep it up.

Can you guys do a video on reading a turbo compressor map and give examples of how to size a turbo based on engine capacity and maybe rpm range too. I am toying with the idea of turboing my crz and while greddy offered a kit it is out of production so I have to build from scratch

A custom kit would be more work - but the output would be more worthwhile. I would see if you could rip that motor out and put a K in it before you start 😉

The most important advantage of Flat Shift is the feeling you get when shifting while still on full throttle. ;-)

Enjoyed the webinar. Running pneumatics but having issues with turbo setup on a sequential bike engine with paddles. Flatshifting isn’t smooth or consistent when boost levels are high, sometimes missing the shift all together. Mid throttle or lower boost the shifts are smooth and work well. Have tried ignition and combination of fuel/ignition cuts with a closed loop gear position sensor. What would you suggest? Thanks

Perfect! That's always the goal, to anticipate the questions that pop up from explanations. Easier said than done sometimes but cheers for the comment and glad Andre hit the mark for you here mate - Taz.

Thanks Andre. I'm going to use your method on clutch switch you showed in the link G4+, however I have a clutch angle sensor in my car rather than a switch. Would that be a matter of working out the clutch pedal angle at which it bites, then work the rev limit around that analogue input?

I hope to get some type of auto rev match set up on my subaru 6mt with the elite 2500, once the car is up and running, I don't always do a great job at matching them on my own.

So for sr20det flat shifting, you use fuel cut ?
@TW-bh2mi3 жыл бұрын
How do manufacturers implement the auto rev match on downshifts are they tracking the gear ratios alongside a strain gauge

What combination causes that momentary "redline" sound between shifts? Is it only spark retard or is it fuel cut ?

Andre, at 14:43 I gave up. Get to the point man! I greatly appreciate your channel as you guys have added professionalism to what many treat (possibly fatally) as just a hobby. Andre, you need to believe many (most) who are watching already know most of what you speak of. The background info you regularly provide just clutters up the presentation, making a movie out of short. Still if one can devote the time to listen to you chime on endlessly about "the car you were involved with at time being the world record holder" but "unfortunately has blown up since then, so sorry we don't have that data to share, you'll have to take my word for it". LOL, sorry man for busting your balls, you get my point though I think. Anyway, I hope you guys have solved the axle shaft issues and get that 1UZedFE screaming and flat shifting (what ever that is) again soon.

11:38 I think it can also help on NA engines, because when you close the throttle on the shifts the air flow slows down and has to accelerate again when you open the throttle in the next gear right?
