Just be aware that a lot of the AFR targets are theoretical. Different engines/setups will require different fuel targets. You know you’ll have it right when the engine has good response (throttle response) and no spark knock. Every engine and setup…and heck …. Every fuel type will be very different. Your goal is to figure out a process and a ball park to get started.

Am getting high iat on rb25 with a pretty small intercooler like 100% bigger than factory.. Causing knock on pump on a engine of 8.5:1 or less compression.. still making 320rwkw at about 18psi on a gt3076r and 385rwkw on ethanol at a measly 24psi so what you've said makes sense for the most part.. better intake charge temps mean more power. Although to be fair I'm not willing to spend money on intake manifolds throttle bodys or exhaust manifolds so it's running all oe components.. on the plus side I'll see 20+psi by the time a factory turbo sees 7psi

such a good video, that i had to watch it again! i have a question on where the "coasting" area would be? I'm sure it could be in the high vacuum area, but I've coasted in the "cruising" areas before. any tips for running those situations? thanks and great job HPA💪
@hpa101
@hpa101 3 жыл бұрын
I define coasting as being when you're completely off throttle. There's a bit of semantics involved though and you could also call an area where you're cruising and slowing down 'coasting' and wouldn't be necessarily wrong. If you're completely off throttle though then you can disable injection which helps save fuel and reduce emissions. On the other hand if you still require some amount of engine power and you're still lightly on the throttle then you'd want to target your normal cruis AFR - Andre

@hpa101
@hpa101 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I missed your question, if you search the word dyno on the channel there are a few videos that explain this and other elements of dyno options and operation. This is a load bearing dyno, and that is the feature of this type. You can hold a set load, being RPM here. You can have a hub, chassis or engine dyno that is load bearing. And alternative is an inertia dyno which doesn't hold rpms like this making them only good for sweeping runs. They are an older and cheaper style really, but still quicker and a little more accurate than just road tuning - Taz.

I use Mazda Edit software to fiddle with the stock ECU. Q - is there away to raised the peak power but keep the torque at 480Nm? ... I'm at lost here

Hi there, i got a question, been data logging my factory 1.4 tutbo Leon and recognized that under 100% pedal, throttle position won't go above 88%. There is no knock detectable and the boost is just 1bar on 102 octane. Is that a factory power limitation or just that they have the same throttle body for different engine sizes where it would go to 100% of throttle position? Thanks a lot for the amazing video lecture as usual🙏🙏🙏

If you optimized only the timing of a car on pump gas and saw torque gains, without changing the fuel tables (or on a standalone Ignition ECU), does that effect fuel economy? In this case would it actually improve fuel economy, because you're making more power with the same amount of air and fuel? How often is it that you can see torque gains from just timing adjustment without increasing octane?

We've since changed mics. Every one we've tried has a different trade off, but we've moved away from this setup some time ago. We can't change this now, but I would turn it down and turn the captions on to avoid some of the annoyance but still benefit from the content - Taz.
