This hit me hard. I watched this video a few months back and thought “Yeah I’m not facing the dragon of my past fuck that.” because it was too terrifying for me to think about. Today I faced the dragon of my past and it’s crazy how a switch went off. The world just feels different now. It looks much more clear. I can’t describe it. But it wasn’t like this yesterday. I feel so much lighter. I don’t feel trapped anymore. I feel freed.

I empathize a lot with this. I'm in the toughest part of the past-authoring program, dealing with some trauma that I thought I had resolved. Turns out... nope. I started physically trembling trying to write about some of that... and thought to myself "oh yeah. I've been lying to myself about this experience for so long, no wonder I have dreams about it all the time, and it makes me feel ill when I write about it".

I had a job I loved. There were two things I would have changed about it: I wanted to spend more time with our clients because I really enjoy getting to know people and helping them find solutions. My boss, someone hurt him horribly in his past, was a tyrant who did many things well and right, but just couldn't stop himself from malevolence. Every time I did something right, he'd show great appreciation, but I quickly figured out that within days I'd pay dearly for it. After 5 years of this, I finally told him that he couldn't treat me like that anymore. To which he slowly replied in a very low, gravely voice, "Why don't you leave."

It's really a shame when an otherwise great or even just fine job is ruined by a bad leader. I've left jobs for this reason too and never regretted it.

@@michaelh2935 Honestly though. I work for a guy now, and we'll, if you asked his other employees, they say he's too much, or wants too much but I've found him to be a very reasonable person and incredibly competent. I don't have any ambition in life but to enjoy what's remaining of it. I don't earn a huge amount of money but my boss treats me with respect, and I respect him in return. Not to mention, he gets shit done. I've met a lot of the contacts he's made over the years and the reason he gets work is because they all know that he goes hard as fuck. That's a guy I can get behind and be happy to work for. I don't need to be rich, just want a competent boss. Edit: I've noticed the main difference between me and the other employees is I'm not afraid to talk to my boss, tell him what it is is I expect and what I'll give in return, my boss and I have become quite casual because he knows that as long as I get what I want, he gets what he wants.

@@michaelh2935 I also meant to say that I have left a lot of jobs for the same reason. Like I had a boss who told me that I was in charge of his tools whenever he needed them I had to know where they are. Fine, idm. He took a roll of duct tape, never came back to me, and while I was off cutting timber he asked me where it was, I said "boss, you took it from me and then sent me away to cut this.." Maybe I should have located it. Fine, I was happy to take that criticism. But when he came up to me, grilling me to find out where his pencil was and then when I pointed out that it was behind his ear, still continued to be angry with me. I said fuck it, I'll see you later. I'm not about to be the dog you come home to and kick because you've had a bad day. Treat me with respect or tickle my left nut.

Before I listen to this, just gonna react to the title. Facing myself and my past was the hardest yet most freeing thing I have ever done. Im confident in myself, my decisions and have actually become a rather relaxed person. I still have my triggers, don't get me wrong but by coming to an understanding and having acceptance for the person I became, has dramatically increased the value i have for not only my life but those around me.

Another factor--you have to advance regardless of the past and a lot of times the dark past comes from childhood abuse. Something I told my own subscribers this week. As I see this daily as a healthcare provider. People who are destroyed adults because they couldn't outrun a terrible childhood. Too many times this becomes the excuse to give up. The reason someone won't try. "Because this (fill in the blank) happened to me." Now understand I am not discounting terrible childhoods. I had one as well. What I am saying is that the world doesn't care. It is totally indifferent. It may owe you but good luck trying to collect. The only way to collect your due is to go out and seek it, pursue it and take it back from the universe. The stories of great triumph are rarely without great adversity--ever notice that? Most will lie down to bad circumstances. But those who get up and fight back will insure that their story is a great one. Hope this helps someone out there---keep being great---Charles.

In my last marriage I think it’s safe to say we both became very unhappy but maybe for different reasons but I find myself dwelling on aspects of that past through rose coloured spectacles as the good memories of things we did together or places we had been to together outweigh the harsh reality of many times spent in abject unhappiness. The consequence of this rosy view of the past is a despair that it is gone with no perspective on the simple fact that it is better that it is gone! I am going on holiday on my own in June to a place full of good memories but I know that between now and then I need to tackle this concept of perspective in order that the happy memories don’t outweigh the many sad and different times in which I was profoundly unhappy. Advice on how to overcome this would be very, very welcome.

30 minutes ago I found a t-shirt in my dresser from 20 years ago. Usually when I see this shirt it reminds me of my youth and all the fun that was had. However today I had a flashback to when I was wearing the shirt and I had acted very regretfully and embarrassed myself to the extent that it’s stayed with me all these years. I just threw away the shirt as if it were a bad omen or idol that was weighing me down. How odd that this was recommended to me at this time

When i was are eight or nine this employee that worked for my families business always used to threaten me and belittle me whenever he got the chance. Also on top of that my family has always been abusive emotionally with daily threats and almost a decade later im still battling with those demons and experiences that i went threw. For the past 3 years ive been suicidal on and off, ive secluded myself from people at school, i feel numb to life to the point that i cant even express my emotions and its hard for me to connect or love anyone nowadays and tbh all i really see for my future is death or prison. l've noticed that recently i get really emotional and i start to cry when i think deeply about the situations that i've been thought in life and all i wanna know is what can i do to heal from this?

If I may: try recalling, did you ever do anything nasty to them, to provoke them? A smirk? A joke? Some trick? Attitude? (People are nasty and vengeful, sometimes with reason, sometimes with no reason). If you investigate this about yoursel honestly and find no guilt of yours, then you're innocent. Maybe, they were after you just bcz you were susceptible, or weak, couldn't strike back. But if you're innocent about that crap, try to stand up and live. Life is not forever. And tell yourself that you can always quit - but there's no coming back from death. Sometimes, it's enough to find a meaningful activity, and with that, you may hit the right crowd, your crowd. Life has no meaning as such, but an individual can find a personal meaning and even personal friends. And death ... it will come anyway. No need to rush it.

See, this whole attempt is predicated upon the idea that problem is entirely subjective and its the individual who causes the problem and this is clearly NOT the case in reality because no one intentionally brings about their own problems but it just so happens either out of their responses to things or the objects as well as dis arranged condition of the things they confront. it would be absolutely deceptional to somehow wrap it in the personalized box when you are an individual involved in everything else with everything of the structure within which all your choices of operation as well as well being is dictated. it seems my audio got edited again and altered to conveniences. you cant really know where you are or whether you are in a right place or not when you dont even know what you are. and even if you are in the right place, what if the problem to fixing as you navigate is not in your handling? what if its the rest of the people who are supposed to communally fix it? because when we ride across the world, we often find that the problem is hardly the person but a variety of problems affects the individual from the area and conditions within which they operate. your choices are always limited to the options at hand and they are again only workable with the possibility that arises itself by situation that can only be overturned when everyone altogether decides to alter the circumstances. you can't necessarily say that some past occurrences has to leave an impact of terror in you that rendered you confused or in fog. it can also be that the same past occurrences lead to clarity by its derivation. I mean, you would not be stupid enough to roam across randomly through some wilderness expecting yourself to not be bitten by a snake when you saw someone else who had roamed there out of venture underwent a near death experience by a snake or that you yourself had once attempted to venture across and had a similar sort of experience. in the realm of occurrences, truth is to be distilled by clear observations and causations of things that appears to work and not by either forming presumed impressions of anything either as it is or either as its not as it is. because both of them again comes back to Belief and not knowing. the mind is fully capable of deriving things by seeing the characteristics of materials involved even before presuming its causations. the problem is the structure and system and to top it all, you guys too, just accept it. there is no way one can afford that when they are poor. transformation is just a shift that happens in the right order, its not some interest based fluctuation that drives you to the opposite of well being. adjustments are not limited nor confined to the individual, because adjustments itself means there are many sides involved and all of them have to operate accordingly. what if the dragon has already been confronted and the treasure has been extracted?

losing and gaining itself has no relevancy to needs really. needs come because you are human and as human beings who are fairly self aware, its quite possible to know your need. if you are so confused of it, just stay without food for few days and the stomach will tell you or stay without movement for one day and body will tell you. needs are just a matter of becoming aware, there is no reason to confuse it with some gigantic universal accidental play and say we have no ability to know our needs enough to proceed through life, that's just rubbish. there is no such thing as losing everything because there is no gaining everything either. there are things and some things you need and some are unnecessary, its as simple as that. needs come in many and even the method of attaining those needs itself has its own need. every need is a question of well being and well being is not some randomly happening things, its to be reflected and understood

nope, these ideologies are wonderful when we are dis involved with things, when we are involved with a situation out of necessity and focus, we are bound to suffer by them and we are not to blame either because we are a part of the system, the attempt to escape or avoid not recognising the situational conditions would not lead to actual help in an inclusive universe. if the defect is the situation or the other person and needs demand involvement, then we have to somehow figure out a way to face it

JP son - i - c screwd - river? :D HeartH help me out. is this the sword, that only the one with the true heart can pull out of the stone? The one who pulls the word out of the one? German word for dragon is Drache/Drachen While Rache means revenge and Rachen is the throat, the throat out of wich we speak creating something like a rumour, and that spreading word would drag on? Is a dragon like a rolling snowball, or even just a snowball with the chance to start rolling out of some random effect? Even when no one is consciously aware of the dragon? A sleeping dragon would be like a long forgotten secret, that when awakens start spitting fire, fire wich is like the act of the first one, the one sun.
