According to Ring, the Pro Power Kit "Bypass Mode" device has to be connected in series with either one of the wires from the transformer.

I have the Ringdoorbell V2 and have been considering doing something similar. I want to install the transformer and bell inside near the entryway and run wires to the outside via drilling thru the wall to connect to the Ring. My intent is, like you, to power it via a power cord with a plug plugged into a standard wall outlet inside the house near the door. I've been stumped as to where I can place the transformer inside so it is protected and hidden. I've seen posts where you aren't suppose to enclose the transformer, but don't understand why you shouldn't. I was considering hiding it in a plastic project box (like from Radioshack). Where do you place your transformer?

Hi. I don't think this is right. The Pro Power Kit is for use with existing doorbells only - it is required to provide power to the Ring Pro only when you're hooking it up in series with an existing wall bell (the pins then provide a voltage dose to the wall bell to ding it when the Ring button is pushed). In your setup you only need to connect the transformer outputs directly to the Pro, preferably with a 1A fuse on one of the wires (Ring can provide this). You don't need the Pro Power Kit.

Ben Ramadan should it connected to the 10amps or the 16v?

I haven't done this myself (mine is plug-powered) but your Ring Pro should connect to the 16V (or 24V) output of the transformer. See here: support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/210205703-Installing-a-Video-Doorbell-Pro-without-an-Existing-Doorbell

Ben Ramadan is there a way for me to install the ring pro even though my existing doorbell is completely run on battery? Or would this be a major job of phishing wires through my walls to set up a new transformer? Thanks in advance.

c brown The Pro Power Cable needs to go in series with the 16v connection. It's basically just a 1A fuse. There's an example on the Ring support website somewhere.
