It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

Does the wire gage from the transformer to the doorbell matter? I have a 5 VA 10V transformer but want to upgrade to a 16VAC transformer. Do I also need to replace the wires from the transformer to the doorbell?

Sometimes, the transformer will be located behind the door chime in a junction box.

I purchased a HZ 24V transformer and it doesn’t have a threaded end as shown in this video. There’s a small angle iron w/ a bolt that doesn’t attach securely to the wall plate. How can I securely attach it? Also why didn’t HZ make 24V transformers similar to 16V that has a threaded end?

What if my old house wires (from the wall) don't match the colors of the wires from the new transformer? The new transformer has black, white and green. Out of the wall are black, black and white. I don't know which colours to connect. Does anyone know?

because it is against code take the voltage off a plug in transformer and run it into your walls just as using an extension cord inside of your walls is against code

I’ve checked everything in the basement and both attic spaces, I’ve followed every wire to every doorbell and to the box. I can’t find it! 1970 built split level home.

If it’s a recessed electrical panel, check in the panel. That’s where it was!

Mine was mounted on the side of the main breaker panel. 1975 home. Some people have even found theirs installed INSIDE (on the bottom) of the breaker panel. Really sketchy and dangerous inside those panels. Be careful if you open it up. Even after shutting off the main breaker, double check for presence of electricity before you touch anything each time. You never know when something could be miswired, not grounded, sharing a neutral with another source… I hate old breaker panels. Call an electrician if you aren’t confident opening one up

You are so intelligent. Attach the same wires to the same screws as it is not wrong as long as you attach them to the same screws? What happens if the tape falls off or you do not remember where the wires went? I guess it does not matter at all if you get them mixed up?

Would it have been too difficult to choose a transformer in the video that fit the explanation? The video shows that the Heath/Zenith chimes use a 16 volt, 10VA transformer, yet the transformer they show in the video clearly shows that it's a 6 volt, 15VA. Way to confuse the consumer and very poor implementation for what *SHOULD* be a video explaining how to do something other than confuse the consumer!
