Excellent informative explanations of the workings and effects of connectors on trigger pulls and effect of the bend on the connector, which helped me with the issue I had with the connector rubbing too much on the slide. Thank you.

Great video, Johnny. It answered a number of questions I had about an upgraded trigger for my first Glock build, my ECD 42. Particularly the advice to use only OEM trigger springs. You mentioned two kinds of safety plunger springs, but no particular advice about OEM vs aftermarket. Thanks, - Z

Just curious as to how trigger springs slow down reset ?? Is it the heavier trigger spring putting more rear force on trigger bar causing more resistance between striker spring and trigger spring ?

Hey Johnny I recently purchased a Ghost Inc 3.5 Ultimate connector with the 6lb trigger spring. Should I skip installing the spring? If I'm honest, I don't understand the disadvantage you talked about in the video.

So, my polymer 80 is jumping the connector! I got everything to assemble the gun and after assembly the firing pin safety was catching the shark fin locking up the gun. I polished and cleaned up the edges and it works the slide like it should. But when I pulled the trigger, the striker will not fire, and I can see from the back that the sear is sliding sideways instead of dropping down to release the striker!

wow, thank you. that was a good education. i don't know if a glock trigger can mimic a 1911 trigger, but it seems possible with the correct connector and safety plunger spring. how close can you get without being dangerous?
@johnnyglocks
@johnnyglocks 6 жыл бұрын
I can get it safely just as good as a 1911 action it's the feel of the hammer dropping that you cannot achieve with a Striker Fired weapon and of course it would be 110% safe

Have a ghost edge connector for my glock 43. I assume the company Ghost made and designed the connector to work best with the stock trigger bar. I also just ordered a Zev Tech Pro Trigger for the glock 43. It comes with JUST the trigger bar. It doesn't come with a connector. Do you think it will have compatibility issues installing a different brand's trigger bar with a ghost edge connector?? will they work hand in hand? They're different brands. I'm afraid they may not work well together. Could this damage the gun?

How do you fix the feed issue with the 42? I heard the 3.5lb connector fixes it.
@johnnyglocks
@johnnyglocks 6 жыл бұрын
A connector will not fix feed issues. it's probably the follower of the magazine. also if it's an older 42 there are issues with those. if you're using anything after market there are always issues I don't care what manufacturer as far as + 1,2 extensions go. Also some ammo does not like the feed. if it's a continuing issue with the gun is all stock I would definitely send it to Glock they're very good about stuff like this

Now i'm shooting my glock 17 OEM.. with polished trigger bar, cruciform and connector which is a - connector.. the one you're referring the 4,5" connector for 3,5" trigger pull weight OH!! the other thing i've got in it it is the 6,5 pounds trigger return spring .. thanks if you will reply to me for helping me out with my glock..

What is wrong with the 6lb connector? Why is it used so rarely? And what are the advantages of it? What do I get for my harder pull?
@johnnyglocks
@johnnyglocks 7 жыл бұрын
BillHimmel from a plug-in play aspect you get total crap it's basically what the New York cops have which makes their trigger pulls 12 to 15 lb. Probably why they're first shot Center Mass hit percentage is 15%. Now what can be done with it from a gunsmith perspectives is a whole different story however it entails a lot of skill and changing of stock parts to pull it off reliably predictably and safe
@BillHimmel
@BillHimmel 7 жыл бұрын
Thought the NY cops had only changed the springs, not the connectors. Does the connector affect the trigger travel? Do I at least less of that in exchange for having more weight to pull? (Sorry I insist on this, but I really wonder what the "Plus Connector" is good for! There must have been a reason for Glock to make it!)
@johnnyglocks
@johnnyglocks 7 жыл бұрын

@@johnnyglocks while so can't afford a Glock Smith, I love your videos and have been learning a ton watching your videos. I'll be putting in a ghost connector in my Gen5 G17 MOS, I wish I know everything nthat I could do to polish and refine the action on the stock parts and would love to learn how to file my own ghost connector for a custom fit and feel on my Glock action. I bet of someone was as great as you are, you could buy the best spring connecter steel and scratch build actions for Glocks. You really seem to know what your doing, who taught you?

I have the Ghost 3.3 Pro connector with 6lb striker spring, reduced plunger spring, and 6lb trigger spring. Would a 4.5lb striker spring reduce the pull weight and still be reliable?
@JohnnyButtercuts
@JohnnyButtercuts 7 жыл бұрын
Behind Enemy Lines did you ever figure that out? Guess he didn’t see your question. I would just keep playing with the Springs at the range and see what works and what doesn’t. I wouldn’t go any less than factory striker spring weight because you’ll start running into problems. You also probably need similar spring weights to make the gun function smoothly and properly. If you get crazy, it might not function at all or just very inconsistently

Wondering if this is a connector related issue: when trigger depressed, and then held while I rack the slide to feel the reset, there is a hard wall before the slide unlocks and has to overcome this abrupt wall. So, dry fire, trigger held back, go to rack the slide to reset, and before that 1/4" of movement to reset there is a wall of some sort that has to break before it racks and resets. Without the trigger depressed it racks back smoothly as normal. Is that related to the connector?
