I absolutely love The Legend of Zelda: The Fallen Sage and it's sequel Time's Menagerie. They're turn-based RPGs, but they're awesome! They were both made by the same guy who made Hyrule: Total War.

Oh crap, I actually remember seeing another kid playing "Lampshade" at our local library years and years ago. It was actually the first flash game I'd ever seen, and it was partially why I ever became interested in Legend of Zelda at all, which in turn got me finally hooked on video games properly. Fate is weird.

I just watched a few of these vids and havent seen the original remade in 3d. its not really 3d but snes style. It was actually really well designed with enhanced upgrades. The final boomarang upgrade is awesome.

I don't know if this can be called a Zelda fan game but it was certainly inspired by The Legend of Zelda... "Ittle Dew". It's an hilarious tongue in cheek game making fun of all the tropes of adventure games like Zelda. And the three dungeon items are cool and used in very creative ways. You can complete the game with all three or any combination of two of the items for a challenge. It's one of my favorites. Also, I recently discovered that they're making a sequel to it too! Woohoo!

There was this ALttP-based game called The Tower of something.. I don't quite remember. It was partly in the "unbearably hard" category, but not exclusively, and I think they smoothed things out with later versions, making it very hard, but in an interesting way. I never bet it though. I'm not sure if there was a bug later in the game or I just kept doing something wrong, but even following a walkthrough I got stuck around the last part of the game and for some reason simply couldn't get to fight Ganon or whoever was the boss of the tower thing.

I'm not sure if anyone has told you this yet, but there is this Ocarina of Time rom hack called Zelda's Birthday. I never played it myself, but I have seen a few let's plays of it on youtube and it looks pretty fun.

Legend of Zelda Parallel Worlds...its for hardcore fans only. It has an extremely hard learning curve/difficulty challenge, but it is extremely fun. You end up going to the first area with no sword.

With the way Bind runs, I'd say it's more like Rogue Legacy. Since the characters in that game run pretty much the same way. Minus the rogue-like elements from Rogue Legacy. But yeah, no, it's not actually a hack of any game. It is a completely original fangame that used nothing for any sort of base. Well, other than the designs and ideas from the Legend of Zelda, but it's a fangame, so that's to be expected.

Back when I used to go on Newgrounds a lot my brother played the lampshade game. It is actually really fun, but first time I actually went to play it my computer had a fight with it and it froze on me...but it was great when I finally got it to work. I haven't seen it screw up for anyone else who played it, so I'm sure the fault was with my laptop, and not the actual game.

Zelda Parallel Worlds is a ROM Hack of A Link To The Past which is just meant to be a harder version of Link To The Past which is one of the more well known fan Zelda games.

There are 2 games that jump to my mind. Parallel Worlds, and The Fallen Sage. Parallel Worlds is a ROM hack of LTTP, and it's HARD. Like, I'd rather do the water temple multiple times over. No dungeon maps, world map isn't the best, and you don't always get a heart container from a boss. This game will troll you hard, and you'll be abusing save states on your emulator. The Fallen Sage is an RPG Maker game with a serious story, new villains/story/characters, and does get dark sometimes. It has a sequel, but I forget it's name at the moment.

Legend of Zelda Parallel Worlds, a great ROMhack for expert Zelda players, the day/night mechanics, the sprites and textures are all redone too. Unfortunately it's deemed a bit too difficult to get into, and getting one item early might nullify your chances to get a better item later in the game. They've tweaked it a bit over the years with versions 1.1 and 1.2, but now they're working on a 2.0, which probably will fix a lot of difficulty issues with the game. If it's possible, take the day/night mechanics, the regenerating magic meter, and all the reworked textures and sprites, and put them right on the original ALTTP, whole different experience.
