I do 16/8 IF as an ongoing maintenance diet after I lost 30 kilos over 10mths. To lose the weight I slowly increased to 18/4 then 20/4. Then when I reached my goal weight i slowly went back down from 20/4 to 18/6 and now 16/8. I feel great and I’m happy that I’m now in a normal healthy weight bracket. Like you I eat a plant based organic diet. IF is the key to weight loss and a healthy life.

Hi Connie: Your meals look scrumptious and tasty. I mainly eat fish (sardines, salmon, tuna, etc.), chicken, and turkey. I very rarely have pork or red meat. I also eat lots of veggies and fruit, legumes, grains, etc. I I don't do intermittent fasting for as long as you do, although I did many years ago when I was in college. I fast between dinner and breakfast (12 to 13 hours, sometimes more). I still work 36 hours/week at 70 years of age, so I need the fuel before I go to work or else I'm distracted by hunger and not as sharp. It works for me.

I enjoy your videos, sense of style, and way of living. I, too, practice intermittent fasting but only fast 12-14 hours per the advice of my Naturopathic doctor. (He says women should not fast past this allotted time.) Each person needs to find their own “sweet spot” when fasting as it can have an adverse effect for some.

I've always thought this. Our bodies know what they need and they tell us. After a wrongly-prescribed medicine in 2017, my health and body went downhill. I haven't been able to recover from it (due to many reasons). I need Life to give me a break, let me have some peaceful months/years so I can focus on pulling myself out of the coffin.

I could listen to your voice all day long. I love chickpeas and I'm going to be trying that recipe with the sweet potatoes (or perhaps roasted butternut squash). I also find that I don't have much desire for meats anymore (especially pork). My problem is I wind up not having dinner at all and then snack on something not good for me. Loved how your loaves of bread turned out.

Hi Connie, I enjoy your vlogs so much. I'm a mom to 8 and it was nice to hear that you are from a large family. I eat similiar to you the only meat consume is fish and eggs. I also gave up beef and pork about 25 years ago and I ate chicken during some of my pregnancies. I live with some hard-core carnivores though😂.

I started IF in 2021 too. I lost 25 lbs but it took a year (16/8). I’ve kept it off on my WFPB diet. I break my fast at 7am with coffee and oatmilk. I love your philosophy on how and why you eat the way you do. ❣️

Very useful advice🙏 Trying to incorporate low FODMAP dishes into my meal planning because of a persistent fructose intolerance and am opting for a similar diet to yours, excluding the fish, it worked wonders immediately. Hope I can keep the discipline. P.S. You are glowing🌞🌟

I ate a wfpb diet for 5 years and lost a ton of weight....blood work was "perfect". Since I have incorporated dairy, poultry and sugar (no red meat) back into my diet and of course gained some weight back. I intermittent fast for about 15 - 16 hours and but drink black coffee with collagen (not sure if the collagen counts as a fast breaker). I love your healthy lifestyle and know I need to do better. Hoping for some motivation. Enjoying your channel :)

That must have been fun and challenging to grow up in a larger family. I enjoyed learning about it. I intermittent fast as well. I feel best that way. I enjoyed learning what you do for your health and how you eat. Well done. I haven't had pork in 17 years. I am a vegetarian but realized that I have always been lean when I eat chicken and fish. I am thinking about going back to eating fish again and maybe chicken here and there. . .but it is hard. I went nearly a decade of not eating chicken or beef. I love eggs especially as a first meal. I loved your recipes you made here. Thank you again.

I do the intermittent fasting too. I had to build up to the 16 hour fast as well. My husband and I are in our 70's and eat dinner really early and its the lightest meal of the day. I feel better having several hours between dinner and bedtime. We do occasionally splurge and go out to dinner with family or friends, but love the simple lighter meals. I still use your bread recipe. Its easy and my favorite. I do make sourdough in between.

thanks for the video. I too intermittent fast. I actually took it on without really realizing. I just don't eat after 9 pm and I don't eat breakfast until 11 am so it is typically 14 hours. I like black coffee which I never did in my earlier years. Just have a cup in the morning and it too breaks the fast. Yes health and well being are so important. I love the way you cook. Simply yet nutritiously. I love small portions as I never feel heavy or restricted after a meal.

I guess the intermittent fasting doesn't work for everyone. I have tried it for a long time, hoping it would work, but nothing....absolutely nothing. I'm in my mid 60s and eat one meal a day, and maybe one snack, lots of water, and swim. . The fat I'd like to lose never goes.
