Conor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather, Teams Discuss Significance of Lighter Gloves - MMA Fighting

Conor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather and their teams all discussed the possibility of 8-ounce gloves (rather than 10-ouncers) being worn in the blockbuster boxing match Aug. 26 and how it will affect the fight. The Nevada Athletic Commission approved the 8-ounce gloves Wednesday.

Exactly what I'm thinking. I mean when you take a proper look at everything, you're thinking man thats floyd, one of the best boxers in the history of combat sports and on the other side Conor McGregor, zero boxing experience but the guy has hella guts and self belief. Floyd wants 8 oz gloves because he plans on tenderizing Conor with his hand speed. Floyd knows 8 oz gloves will do more damage increasing his chance of forcing a stoppage due to cuts. However, Conor only needs to land 1 shot to win and a shot from an 8 oz glove will do more damage so Floyd's plan may backfire.

Experience : Pro-boxing sure, but have you experienced fighting a Karate stanced, low guard, south-paw, with a perfect storm of other characteristics. While Conor has surely faced an uncountable number of boxers. Fighting Knowledge : Conor is extremely proficient in multiple fighting disciplines, in addition to having a firm understanding of the movement of the human body. Floyd is expert in boxing, specialised and perfected, but I don't think anyone would give it to Floyd, when it comes to overall "fighting knowledge".
