Chael got so many facts wrong in this video it's ridiculous. Mayweather Pacquiao is still the biggest boxing pay per view fight at 4.6 million buys and a 72 million dollar gate. Mayweather McGregor did 4.3 million buys and a 58 million dollar gate. Also Mayweather is a 5 division champion not a 6 division champion. And one judge actually had Conor winning 3 rounds not none as Chael claims.
@IPIRIEY6 жыл бұрын
may pac did 4.6 in USA alone, and may conor did 4.3 in USA alone. Also, with the gate numbers, may and mac had 10xs more free tickets to handout to people (which they could have sold privately for big money to make even more money on the side) as was written in their contracts. So your facts are messed up as well. Anyways, you are right, one judge only gave conor 3 rounds, while the other 2 gave conor only 1 and 2 rounds. Conor clearly won 3 rounds, so one of the judges was very corrupt in giving him only 2. that same judge was the one who gave may the win in the first Luis fight where may clearly got outboxed when he broke his hand early in the fight. Conor should have had 4 or five rounds in the bank, but to see each judge only give conor 1, 2 and 3 rounds is quite disgraceful. It was similar to the maidana fight scoring, where maidana was pushing the pace, landing more than floyd, and always moving forward in rounds, yet he would still lose most of the rounds he accomplished that in the fight. I don't know if Floyd has some people paid off, or what it is, but he definitely gets beneficial judging where conor had no shot. It should have been even if conor survived heading into the 11th, but even when conor outlands may in the first five rounds, one judge only giving conor only one round is fishy to say the least. Yes chael was wrong with a lot of his facts, but his overall vision on how the fight went down was correct. Also, the fight was 40 more dollars to buy than the pacquiao fight, so even selling .3 mill less, they made almost double in the US than that fight. International buys were also much higher than maypac, as maypac got very few european buys, while may pac had some of the highest international numbers in multiple decades.

It may be illegal but the fact is Floyd threw very little punches in the earlier rounds like an astonishingly low number of punches and he knew mcgregors biggest weaknesses are submission and cardio so the game plan makes sense Floyd even mentioned calling other boxers “front runners” guys that can only fight in the first rounds of course he would expose Connor as a front runner

Joseph Anthony Merenda if floyd doesn’t ‘carry’ him Conor goes 12 rounds. People need to stop and use logic. Floyd fought to get mcgregor tired. If he fought like he usually did Conor would not have touched him, but they would have gone 12 rounds. Floyd didn’t carry no one. What floyd did was use strategy to get Conor tired and part of that was letting Conor tire himself out by having minimal output and letting McGregor use all of his energy early. That’s what you call an effective game plan.
@tjtheadvocate6 жыл бұрын
@@RedDevilSkillz you clearly don't know boxing bru. Floyd definitely carried him. He threw two punches in the first round and like 5 or 6 in the 2 and 3 rounds smh.

RedEvilSkillz Have you ever seen Floyd not throw a punch for three rounds? I am ball parking here but in just that first round I don't think Floyd threw 10 punches. This was all about money. If he wanted to he could have starched Conor in the first exchange and embarrassed him badly. He decided to put on a show. He allowed the great white hype to get as much hype as humanly possibly before knocking him around the ring like a pin ball. You do realize people will buy the PPV if their friends call them like "HOLY SHIT CONOR STILL IN THERE AND IT's ROUND FIVE!!! HE'S WINNING THE FIGHT!" This was brilliant business on Floyd's behalf. I'm using the highest logic possible. Business is full of trickery. We were all tricked that night into believing it was a competitive contest. Floyd didn't even cut the ring off. He allowed this fight to go the route it went.

It was a circus. The fact that it made money does nothing to disprove that. People love the circus. I agree that Conor won more rounds than he was giving but how is that relevant? He never hurt Floyd once. He never even came close, whereas Floyd had him in all sorts of trouble. That fight was always going to end with a Floyd stoppage. Floyd barely trained for that fight, stayed out late until all hours of the night, ate whatever he wanted and still was never once in danger of losing the fight. I mean come on. More competitive than we thought? Sure. Floyd made it that way by not taking it seriously, and still stopped him, something he hadn't done (proper) in a decade.

I think floyd for sure was gonna win man but the scorecards were either insanely biased or they gave rounds to floyd because of those rabbit punches connor was throwing but it wasnt as insanely one sided as its made out today. Floyd did what he always does with fighters and thats observe their gameplan and technique in the ealry rounds and drag them into deep water he did what he always does and it works but for a guys who never boxed professionally i dont think anyone sat there bored.

People use this point to diminish Conor all the time. It’s baffling. 1. Floyd always does that 2. Floyd knew he couldn’t go for it because Conor was way too sharp early on 3. The reason he knew that was because one of those few punches that Floyd threw got countered by a picture perfect uppercut from Conor that was one of the cleanest shots any man has ever landed on Floyd. I’m not taking anything away from Floyd. He’s a genius fighter and he played it smart. He had the perfect game plan. But nobody just gives away a round in combat sports. Somebody has to take it. Like it or not, Conor won 3-4 rounds against the greatest boxer of all time in his debut boxing match. Saying Floyd took those rounds off only makes boxing look worse. He took them off because he KNEW Conor would smoke him if he went out guns a blazing. Put the shoe on the other foot. Do you think if you stuck Floyd in an MMA cage, that ANYBODY would “feel him out” or “wait till he gasses”? Hell no. Floyd would be a broken bloody mess inside 4 minutes. Long story short, Floyd went easy in those first few rounds due to fear. It was a healthy fear, and that fear won him the fight, but it was fear nonetheless.

one connor barley kicks anyway so that wouldn't even be an issue and two, there is no such thing as an mma stance, let's say we are referring to his primary fighting stance, then he still is predominantly a striker as he originally came from boxing. To finish how can he confuse an opponent and land a power punch not designed for strict boxing, makes no sense, the max he would get is an awkward shot off balance that carries little weight behind it.

Will challenges Larry Wheels to a powerlifting meet up which he will handily win. - Chael will then run for president against Donald Trump in 2020 and be the first man to win the presidency via piledriver. - Once Chael is in office he will erect a statue in his likeness that all citizens will bow to every evening which will bring both world peace and an end to world hunger Once all of this is completed, our Lord and Savior Chael “The American Gangster” Sonnen will walk off into the sunset as a legend. I like Chael. He shows a wit and knowledge about the sport unlike anyone else. He communicates it with reason and entertainment. However, Chael is really unconvincing and just not reasonable with his argument about Mayweather. I can't stand Mayweather (no fan of Conor either) and I don't count myself a boxing apologist. Chael's arguments are just not strong. For example, the quick lookup that I did showed that only in 2005 and 2011 did Floyd ever have a fight NOT go to the 10th round. He's not a knockout artist. He methodically breaks you down. Also, I didn't hear a majority of experts say that Floyd would knock him out fast. Floyd did but he was selling a fight. If I recall correctly, most people I heard said that if Conor had any chance it would come within the first three rounds with that "puncher's chance" line being mentioned. Then most people went on to say that Floyd would "download" that info and know how to walk Conor down. The way I see it, Conor got pieced up by a 40 year old that didn't even throw a punch in the first round. Sorry Chael. Ain't buying what you're selling here. Much respect though. You have an opinion and go tooth and nail at anyone. Like that.

Love the video and Chael is great. But to correct him Floyd fought Connor in a way that was easy for Connor to win the early rounds by not throwing punches and letting Connor throw them. His plan was to let Connor gas himself out. So by saying he had to go over a half of an hour with a kid that has never done it is wrong. It’s what Floyd wanted to do. Floyd could have slipped and countered and won all the rounds if he wanted to. The judges were wrong though. By the way I loved the fight!

3-4 rounds. And thats not bad for Conor considering his opponent
@cjjohnstone1756 жыл бұрын
McGregor won 3 rounds maximum, not to mention that Floyd barely threw anything at all in those rounds and only really got caught clean once with the uppercut maybe once or twice more with some jabs. After that Floyd just walked him down for the rest of the fight with no concern whatsoever. The truth is that Mayweather spars with people better than Conor at BOXING.

Finally someone who actually watched and understood. Floyd never carried him per say but it wasn't really competitive

Chael, i mostly respect your comments, they come off as smart and informative. Hoopla, instagram, Twitter, youtube and smart marketing can make anything look great!!! With the prices one pays today, a $12-20.00 dollar ticket, to watch movie like Marvel, which is all hoopla and no substance, does, that make them Oscar Worthy??? They sold a bunch of ticket, so what??? Does it define quality??? Hum, what do you think?? So it sells, it means its good??? O.K. if that's your perspective!!!!!!!!

Chael you are great at what you do. And of course you are an MMA guy. But.....jesus....Floyd was doing three things. 1) Wanted to carry him for the crowd. 2) Wanted to get to 50-0. 3) Floyd and Dana didn't want to kill the crossover golden goose for MMA and boxing. Lord it really couldn't be more obvious.

Any round CM had, were given to him....he was carried, dragged, pushed, whatever into deep waters, and drowned. Done!
@billyoung58266 жыл бұрын
Floyd admitted he wanted to drag Conor into deep waters. Why would he even feel the need to do so unless he recognized a real threat. If Floyd could have ko'd him whenever he wanted, he would have. If Floyd didn't respect him, Conor shouldn't even have won a round. Instead, he whooped his ass for half the fight.

Well floyd did have a friend bet on him winning in the 10th round... so id say he probably did carry him, and im more of an mma fan than anything.

1 judge gave Conor three rounds the other 2 gave Conor only round 1. None of the judges gave Floyd round 1 though the latter two judges were fucking bought

Floyd was 40 boxing a prime Conor McGregor using a style that he hasn't used since his 20s. Floyd He carried that fight because the fans would've felt cheated if he had sparked McGregor in the first round. Plus no one would want to see a rematch. By going to the 10th some fans may be willing to see if McGregor has what it takes in part 2.

Dark Magician I'm sorry but Floyd ain't sparking no one out in the first round.

@@MaSsiVeGaming1 Not at 41, but I'm actually right since a video was released by Helen Yee yesterday about a rematch happening. You guys have to start looking at the big picture.

Dark Magician Not at 41, and not in decades. His last KO was against Ortiz from that 'cheap shot' in 2011, and that was in the 4th. Before that his last TKO was in 2007. His last 1st round TKO was in 97.

Chael they coined it in mcgregors worth 150 million !! Very smart and conor knew he had no chance. Floyd played it come on.

Was it illegal for Floyd to bet on him finishing Conor in the 10th?

He was carried, he did okay, and he was let off the hook at the end, maybe literally. Figuratively, that seems to happen quite a bit for him, which is most unimpressive. Mayweather has a responsibility to try to win, one may say, but how he does that is his choice. If deciding when and how were not permitted, most of Ali's fights would have been voided before they began because he predicted in which round he would take out an opponent. Now let's look forward to watching McGallagregor (forgive me, I start to forget who is who lately) toyed with again, by a rare good guy: Nurmagomedov.

I love Chael but he seems to think that something being watched by many makes it legitimate. Titanic is the second biggest box office grossing movie of all time. And Furious 7 is in the Top 10. There’s no accounting for taste, such is the phrase.
