I'm in in-person therapy right now and it has been helpful so far! I've had several panic attacks, which kind of feel like seizures, but I know talking with a professional will help me process all the trauma in my life. Thank you for originally referring me to the faithful counseling to begin with! It made me realize I needed counseling, but I do greatly need the in-person presence of someone. I know God is continuing to heal me!

I'm feeling anxious today for a whole lot of reasons. One of the lies I've sometimes believed about myself is that I'm a failure. I've not had a job for over 4 years, I'm broke, still living with my parents, and I'm 30 years old. Now, I know at least at a surface basis that these things are not my identity, but like it has to be deeply rooted in me. The truth is getting down deep, but it's definitely taking some time. I needed this video today. It's God's work and the Spirit's transformation in me that I'm at the point I am and not anxious all the time.

I have waged war on my anxiety the last few years. What you outline in step 7 has been key! After I've done all that I "believe" can do to manage a particular situation. I say a prayer. Recite in my head some Bible verses I have memorized. Deuteronomy 31:6, Isaiah 41:10. and My favorite chapter in the Bible Psalms 23! To name a few. Then I do my best to let it go! This has really helped!

Our brains are adept at creating illusory threats and imaginary problems, because it wants to preserve its existence...even to the point of thinking itself into illness. Mindfulness helps. I like the workbook called 30 Days to Reduce Anxiety by Harper Daniels.
