I want to thank you for all of these clips and fragments. I discovered Conrad through a film class this year, did my semester project on him, and am on a mission to collect every film I can find. Apparently this film survives incomplete, 47 minutes from original 90 minute version. Veidt plays a painter infected with syphilis. It also stars Walter Rilla as a doctor and Mary Parker (Magdalena Prohaska) as Veidt’s wife who he infects with syphilis .
