Martin's book is a must read for anyone who wants to truly understand how to be still. The man deserves so much more recognition. Fair play to you Iain for shining a light on him.

«To be still». Is that contemplation? Reminds me about «Being and Nothingness» by Jean Paul Sartre. Also «The Cloud of Unknowing»

@@anderz64 Investigate.....Isn't stillness ever present? Doesn't the mind appear and dissapear in stillness? Stillness is a word, and it's beyond definition, but there is a knowing that it is always here....ever present still awareness....❤️

If only there were more psychotherapists like Martin Wells, empowering their clients with the knowledge of their innate well-being. Thanks Iain for bringing him to us. Interviewing between your homes worked well: keep 'em coming! Loved the background behind him by the way!

I like Martin Well's analogy of the 'oil tanker' as I've been feeling a bit like a tanker myself for a while, hoping for the momentum of it to turn.... but where to? ... I am not seeking anything anymore. It's almost as if I've reached a crossing without the presence of paths, which in turn slightly unsettles me because this state is new to me. Well, after this talk I will endevour to accept this state and the stillness it offers. 🙏

Martin Wells, Iain McNay, thank you : ) Many wonderful takeaways! 2:35 I sit in my stillness. And I invite people in to theirs. 23:25 Patient tells me his whole story. And then, he says to me: You know, that's the story of me. But, I still don't know who I am. 30:55 JM has a nice image... it's like the child in the back of the car with a plastic steering wheel... We think we are driving this. But, we are not. 33:59 When a problem comes. Stay open. Be curious about what happens next 35:40 The thing that made a difference is that she didn't see fear in my eyes. Which brings me back to J's statement: I sit in my stillness. And I invite people in to theirs. 54:35 One of the things that often happens when there is a crises is What's real is revealed. What's rubbish is revealed. What's sustainable is seen as sustainable. And, what isn't, isn't. What's real will last. What's not real won't last. 48:20 Optical illusion. Vase & 2 Faces. Once you have seen the faces in the Vase, then, of course, you can't not see it. I'm not that drama. I'm not that story. The momentum of the story can catch you. But you can't not know it any more. : ) 46:30 Story of a sculptor and horse Sculptor's asked: How do you sculpt the horse? He said: I just took away the bits that weren't horse. Neti, neti.

Thanks for another great interview. This definitely came at the right time for me. And the section at about 18:40 when Martin says, “if we didn’t take the path we wouldn’t know there isn’t a path to take”, makes me wonder if the path is really just a test of our resolve, an initiation? Just a thought.

Just becoming aware that do “monkey chatter” out loud & in my mind (have ESKF) so is harder as like trying to make your hand stop shaking due to neurological illness but can be aware of when doing it & must know this shall pass & if must go off to myself & be alone.

Missing Renate. Did you mean that you have been living in different homes coz of the lockdown.? Martins room is actuslly pink??!! And the pink looks mottled.. Not one straight colour or it is that me??!! Love to get some reactions from your readers..

Step 1: Be a Human Being.
@jacobsolace1773 жыл бұрын
A Human Being is one who is actually Totally Free of fear, anxiety, sorrow, guilt, confusion, and loneliness. A Human Being is one who is actually Totally Free of vanity, envy, greed, jealousy, possessiveness, attachment, hatred, violence, bias, and prejudice. A Human Being is one who actually treats everyone, without exception, with the same intensity and quality of care and affection that they would give their dearest closest friend, lover, or child, without any sense of division or separation. A Human Being is actually Living Love, Peace, Joy, Creativity, Authenticity, Compassion (Passion for All) in each and every moment of daily life. A Human Being is actually Communicating, Communing, Connecting with everyone and everything in each and every moment of daily life. Total Freedom from the I, the me, the self, the so-called True or Higher Self, is the beginning of being a Human Being in daily life.

To be Human does not take time. It is not of time. It is not the result of time or the things of time. It is not the result of any process. It is not the result of any method, ritual, or diet. It is not the result of any chemical. There is no path to it. It happens effortlessly and choicelessly...faster than the speed of light. Moreover, it is once and for all, now and forever.
