Brutes don't benefit from elite rank at all (excluding regeneration). Their "elite" weapon is the same as standart. That's why elite Conscripts shredded them like a paper page.

Actually Elite brute gets Area effect damage bonus but it’s so weak that can’t see it lol

Also Brute must get in line to melee while Conscripts can fire over shoulder. Perhaps Brute will kill more if there’s only one line.

Also, in the case of non-elite conscripts, they have the advantage of getting promoted and getting bonus damage, etc. While brutes are not likely to get promoted for killing a low-level unit and are likely to die first before they get the chance.

Wait, I just thought about something. Suppose a Yuri player mind-controls a spy and uses the spy to infiltrate an enemy barracks, which would then give all/most infantry veteran status. What if that same Yuri player then uses a Genetic Mutator on enemy infantry; will the Brutes created by the Genetic Mutator start with the veteran status or would they have no veteran status? (KZbin cropped my comment again)

Brutes will be without veteran, Genetic Mutator just kill infantry and then create brute without veteran status or other upgrades from crate

Magnetrons are what makes yuri broken. The ability to make you lose control over large portions of your tanks makes attacking very difficult. The only exception to this are battle fortresses, as infantry can still attack while floating. Issue is, a trade of 1000 for at least 3000 is very good for yuri. Also Yuri can make infinite money with genetic mutator or industrial plant from an ally
