Eventually we were updated saying he's suffering from depression but he's getting help for it now, and may come back in the future when he's healthy again. Really hope he gets better, I know how bad depression is, it sucks the life out of you, but it can be overcome with the right treatment and meds.

Pat fits with CW, has screen presence and good acting skills. He certainly has the potential to be co-host. I think he still needs to find his in-character trademark identity as the shadow of Greg still lingers on the role. It can only come over time so I encourage him to try on more experimental interpretation to see what sticks. He shouldn't be afraid to put a bit of himself in the Super Nintendo character.

SNES is my favorite console ever.......... But I been getting into ROM Hacks and the Genesis has a TON of them that fix the colors and audio to be similar to the SNES. But the Genesis has a bigger FoV (field of view. basically you can see more on the screen) so in all honesty I have been really enjoying the Genesis lately. More than the SNES and all those games

You are using emulators aren't you? The KFusion Sega emulator has default of 320x224 but the Genesis console had a max of 320x224 but only displayed 256x224. SNES9X and ZSNES Super Nintendo emulators default at 256x224 but the SNES console could display 512x448 (448P) or 512x478 (478i) but most games were displayed in 256x224 because that was all a television could do back then.

Awesome episode -- Hats off to a great start!-- errr, uh... I mean Pat's. He's got a warm voice and good presence. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I can hear some of Greg's writing coming from him, but he's presenting it in a different way. That shows talent on his part, especially if he was a fan prior to this arrangement. My only suggestion to Pat is perhaps slow down just a -tiny- bit while giving the narration describing the game's features and soften the voice slightly. Through the mic the voice seems to come through a bit stronger than it does than when recording both of you at the same time on the set. As a result his voice sounds really sharp while narrating and it's perhaps a tiny bit jarring.

Well Greg was always going to be hard to replace and I don't think Pat was anywhere near as funny but it's the first episode and Pat can only get better as he becomes more comfortable in his role. Still a pretty decent episode overall.

Great to have you back. Excellent job, Pat! When I was a kid, me and a friend would often trade SNES games to play for a while. I would trade things like Super Mario Kart or Donkey Kong Country 3, and in return would get Joe and Mac or Joe and Mac 2 (or even Congo's Caper). At the time I felt like I was getting the raw end of the trade deal, but I've come to appreciate these games as I've gotten older. Solid platformers. I'm just not sure why the early 90s were so obsessed with cavemen?

Some of the arguments in this video are really stupid. Making music faster doesn't make it better. And you might not like a 2 player mode in which players can hurt each other, but fact is that the possibility alone gives the SNES Version more variety. So people who like a 2P mode with "friendly fire" have the choice, while they don't in the Sega version. Also, saying that Joe and Mac is all about the boss fights is totally wrong, otherwise there would only be the boss fights. Adding more to the levels is what made Arcade conversions for 8-bit NES so much better and worth their money. The NES era is a clear proof of concept here. So there is no reason why it shouldn't be the same in the 16 Bit era. A good example is Virtua Racing on Genesis / Mega Drive. I loved that game back in the days, but it annoyed the heck out of me that it only had 3 race tracks, despite the fact that this matched with the Arcade version . I surely would not have complained about more or longer race tracks to enjoy.. or more game modes. More is more in any case here.

I appreciated the slowness and easiness of the SNES version as a kid. It was the perfect rental game, though it was frustrating to cruise through the whole game only to be taken down by the final boss. Finally got my revenge about a year ago.

The best Joe & Mac is the arcade version! Ok so sure, the levels are super short, and the movement is hard to control (for me, of course) But unlike both Super Famicom and Sega Genesis you can stomp on enimies and boulders.

I prefer the Genesis version because it's closer to the arcade game it's based on. However I do have fond memories with playing the SNES version. I just say whatever version you like best. Either you want a quick, arcade style romp, or a much lengthier adventure.
