I have been waiting it seems like forever for this new video from Andrew. When I saw that he had a new one out everything else came to a screeching halt while I started watching the newest "castle" video. I'm still (somewhat) patiently waiting for his official introduction of Cody! Cody is so cute! I can see right now that he is going to be a much more "hands on" supervisor than Levi has been. I wish Andrew had let Cody put his little paw print in the wet concrete. That would have been an awesome memory years and years down the road.

It does take a while to move up the ranks but you'll be better trained and won't pick up as many bad habits and like I said you are getting paid to get the training instead of paying for training. And the guys you work with will actually respect you more for moving up the ranks instead of like oh hey I done schooling and didn't have to go through what all of you other guys did to get here, they'll look at it like you didn't earn it. I own a bunch of construction trucks and excavation equipment and I've had school taught drivers work for me in the past and I told myself that is never hire another school taught driver again because of the way they all turned out and I haven't hired one since 2003. Never had a school taught equipment operator but I believe I'd feel the same way about hiring one. And a operator either has the instinct to basically run any and call types of equipment or he doesn't and I don't think a school will teach you on every different kind of machine. When I hire an operator he has to know how to operate everything I have, front loader, excavator, skid steer, dozer, crane, roller, ext... And huge bonus if they have a class A CDL with endorsements to drive the trucks! That way I'm just paying one guy to move and operate a machine instead of hiring and paying 2 guys and that kind of a person will generally make 20% or more than just an operator.

Andrew, my wife and I just discovered your KZbin channel and videos about 2 weeks ago. We're both 65 years old and addicted to your videos. We are so impressed with your abilities and knowledge (neither of us having any construction or land maintenance knowledge whatsoever). We do have experience in dealing with numerous contractors, however, as we've put up two new doublewides in the past 18 years. The most recent being 2 years ago. By contractors I mean all kinds. Land clearing, well installations, plumbers, electricians ... well, you get the idea. We've only ever dealt with 2 that I can honestly say were truly men of ability AND integrity. All the rest have been standard, run-of-the-mill, big-talking good-old-boys. Can get the job done but barely and rarely (if ever) reliably. Because of this, I can safely say that you sir are a rare jewel that deserves all the success of a positive future. One more thing, if you don't know who Howard Roark is, please read The Fountainhead. He is you and you are he. Thank you so much for your videos and all our best wishes for you and your future.

i was so much happier to see the wood leave and the steel arrive, a beautiful work of art building like that shouldn't be disgraced by adding wood to it, at least not to the structure. it's looking very awesome, i love all that steel......you never cease to amaze me!

@@jarroddraper5140 But he didn't need to carry that kind of load for his roof. In a wood vs excavators bucket teeth match, the wood looses every time. Andrew mentions putting the same type roof that's on his equipment shed / pole barn - on the Castle. These LVL's would have been perfect! Mid-stroke, he changed his plan to keep wood out of the building, for fire or extreme weather events. He talks about it just after @ 21:42

I realise thst filming this gives you a good build record but I also appreciate it's yet more work and I enjoy wstching you in action. You're what is known over here as 'a class act'. Cheers. BobUK
