Great video. I love comparison videos. I just saw a Walmart/target etc comparison video. These videos really give me an idea of where it’s worth spending extra and where it’s not

The dollar tree containers for drawer organizing work great for what I needed them. I have the Sterlite stacked latching boxes for my craft supplies. One of the larger and two of the smaller fit great for dividing up items!

I use Container Store bins for toys. Clear and no lids keep it easy for my kids. You are right! It’s hard to find a good substitute that’s sturdy.

I might think the laundry baskets are more like toy baskets or baskets to hold yarn for knitters or fabrics, etc.c. Dollar tree does sometimes have different color baskets like your turquoise stack. They are closed on all sides. I use them to sort my paper mess, which is great, for house, car, bank , investments, medical, etc, etc. I don’t know whether they stack because that wasn’t my goal

I find that the more I like a bin as far as looks and how well it works for what I am organizing, the more likely I am to return items to it when I am done using the items.

Great tips. I’m in the UK & would much rather buy a good quality container (A bin is something we put rubbish into) from a shop called John Lewis, or other shops that sell them. The plastic containers in Poundland are often cracked & don’t last very long. They are often total rubbish.

I bought those exact baskets with the circles, in the blue and grey, from the dollar store. They looked pretty on the shelf in my closet at my command center.

Great video! I pretty much always opt for quality and durability, especially if I use something every day. I want to add: You don't need fancy containers, especially if you are just starting out. I use shipping cardboard boxes in so many of my dawers as drawer dividers and they do just fine. It can be difficult with open shelving because you want it to look fancy, but keep the cost in mind. That being said, don't settle for something longterm that you hate. You will be more likely to put stuff away if you love the organizing solution (it has to be practical, too!). I shows again that it's costly to keep stuff: You need the furniture that takes up valuable space and you need some sort of container. Really think twice about if the item is actually worth a container or if you can just get rid of it.

What are those containers on the shelf behind you with the labels on them? I have been looking for something like that for a while!

I like the clear to white color ones and I would set them on the side so I could store my quilting magazines in them. I recently got a shelving rack, and the bottom self holds all the magazines. it would be better to have the containers to hold the magazines and books as far as that goes so they do not fall off the self, I love the other containers to as it holds my fat quarters and assorted fabrics. next I want to get the containers for my scrap booking supplies. this video was very helpful to me.

I use the Container Store all purpose bins in my sewing/craft room. The large size is perfect for storing patterns.

The one thing I've really gotten frustrated with IS that most of dollar tree bins do slant significantly.

Baskets that are wider on the top and narrower on the bottom drive me bonkers. 😂 The eat up so much space when trying to line them up on a shelf.

I have used the spray paint made for plastic outdoor furniture, I think it's Krylon brand, to change the color of cheaper containers and it worked very well.
