These new Chosen are amazing sculpts. I love that heavy dark metal for the armour. It looks incredible.

They’re just so god damn cool I feel like a kid again when I first started getting into the hobby for the first time (ended up going away for a while but now I’m big time back in)

To avoid painting a lot of gold trim, I like to prime the mini in gold and fill in the silver parts. For my Khorne boys, I primed the mini in gold and filled the armor plates in red. It's faster as you can quickly paint large surfaces instead of neatly focusing on sharp details
@robertof.52832 жыл бұрын
I take the same way with my stormcasts. Much much easier and cleany.
@jonesrichardmr Жыл бұрын
I like the opposite. Easier imo to paint the raised trim areas, than the recessed armour panels cleanly. But I don't use contrast for the armour and trim... Different strokes for different folks :)

I find all the trim on these guys very intimidating to paint. Usually not a fan of silver chaos warriors, but the amount of shading you've done saves this paintjob for me. Good job as usual!

Thanks for the tuto ! Why not using agrax for the second shade of mettalics like Chaos Warriors ? You want more clean ?

Looks great but way too time consuming for me. I’m using the following method for Khorne chosen: Prime black. Base the entire model warplock bronze. Lightly drybrush the armour castellax bronze. Edge highlight the most prominent edges runelord brass. Shade the deepest armour recesses with wyldwood contrast. After the armour is done it’s just a matter of picking out details to taste.

@Warhipster On this and the other Slaves to Darkness models you've painted, are you using the old or the new recipe for the classic shades (Agrax and Nuln oil)
@Warhipster2 жыл бұрын
I’m using the new ones. They’re better for this kind of thing as they retain more of the colour properties than the old ones did. This way they’re still that little bit metallic!
@shedaox2 жыл бұрын
@@Warhipster thanks for the response! I'll have to pick up a couple pots of the new shades then!

I love your guides man they’ve helped me so much! I’ve started painting these, any tips on what I can touch the Grey seer up with? I’ve put on the iron hands and Retributor armour but got some of it on the parts that are going to have contrast like the weapon handles etc?

I love this video! The colour scheme is incredible! I was just curious how you did the bases?

It's nice and Simple! Stirland battlemire > Drybrush with Tyrant Skull and then some Mixed Green Tufts from Gamer's Grass with an Abaddon Black Base Rim. The Tactical Rocks are done with Targor Rageshade over them and then drybrushed at the same time as the Stirland Battlemire with Tyrant Skull!

Hey, for anyone that's watching this painting tutorial, don't be like me. I have nuln oil from 3+ years ago, it does NOT look like how his does. Do yourself a favor and refresh your inventory. I have 2 of these minis, one with the old nuln vs the new and they're VERY different. I was wondering why my minis didn't look at all like his, and my old paints are the culprit 😅This is not a dig
@VanHeIthing1 Жыл бұрын
This is not a dig on his paint scheme at all. Just a helpful tip from someone who had to learn this the hard way
