Great educative video Kshitij. Don't know what the agenda of the few who disliked it. I have been using dram caching since HDD days, deliberately started delayed use of SSD till 2019. In between used The Seagate 2TB Firecuda SSHD due to this very reason and its greater warranty period. CPU cache memory & Ram speeds are the only real secret of fast computing. rest all sales gimmick. Looking forward to your Level-2 storage volume caching video. Happy Computing

thank u very much sir, mene use kra or muje itni performance boost mili ki sequential read and write mere SSD pe 240 MB se 270 MB tha, par caching karneke baad 6 se 7 GB ho gaya, as well as Random R&Wr 24 and 40 MB tha vo 439 & 267 MB ho gaya.. thank you sir .. mene to jyada ram laga di thi par use nhi kar paa raha tha...ab ye use kar raha he.. aapko 100000 sashtang pranam sir ji thank you.......

Sir, thank s a lot. My observation 1. My laptop old thinkpad t410 with 8 gb ram. Main hard disk I have replaced with samsung SSD 750 evo 500 gb(5 years old, gifted by my friend). Response is pretty good after upgrade. Samsung 750 evo has dram cache I think. Recently I have replaced my cd dvd optical bay with caddy SSD Kingston a400 480 gb. As it has no dram cache, it was slower than samsung 750 evo. Now I have installed Primocache and cached Kingston SSD using thinkpad t410 ram (used 2gb). Kingston SSD improved a lot in read and write. But still it cannot match 5 years old samsung 750 evo. Checked with hwinfo, both samsung SSD and Kingston SSD are connected to high speed sata 3 controller of T410.

I did this, everything is happening as it's shown on screen in this video. But there's no difference in actual copy speeds. I copied a folder of 8 GB from a folder in my SSD to another folder in the same SSD. It's still copying at only 62 Mbps, whereas before doing this primocache thing it was 60 Mbps. Can anyone tell if there's something more to be done in this?

It only provides a buffer for data transfer, once the allocated memory is full, the data will directly be written on the ssd. Hence it's only useful for random read/writes and not for sequential.

Ek bar real example kr k bta dijiye, syd kuchh galt setting ho gya ho.

I am using iMac 2019, i5 with 32gb Ram. I do my video editing on an external thunderbolt 4 NVME enclosure (ACASIS with WD Black SN750). Still I get speed of only 900 Mb write & 2500 Mb read. The DRAM less SN770 is giving speed of around 2500 Mb read & write. How can I boost the write performance of SN750 with DRAM?

general MLC means 2 bits per cell, but Samsung uses that term differently they call all their NANDS MLCs(Multi level cell), like 2bit MLC for MLC, 3 bit MLC for TLC. and yeah both are WD and Samsung 870 evo are using TLC Nands WD is using sandisk and Samsung it own samsung nands

Go for samsung 980 , if u have a 8/16 gb ram with atleast 2666 mhz frequency. Trust me u won't regret, the latest hmb controllers in Samsung 980 are really worth it. + Do the caching part as told in the video to boost even further.
