Sometimes the home developer (in new homes, if you choose to have it pre-installed by certain alarm company) requires the use of wired sensors because some of those sensors can be hidden in the windows and doors, including sliding doors… you don’t see them. So technically, and what I’m trying to say is wired sensors are not just OLD tech like you mention in the video, it has other purposes/motive as well.

Actually, they are old tech. But it doesn't mean it is useless. People tend to talk about old things like if they were necessarily worse than New.

Great video. I have a question on Alula RE508X translator that Brinks installed to monitor our home. So far this system is useless to us because of the constant false alarms, particularly on a zone that has two sensors wired in series. Brinks refuse to come to resolve the issue. All they want to do is selling us wireless sensors to replace the wired ones, which we didn’t want the first place. Since then I’ve replaced those 2 wired sensors and the false alarms seem to be more frequent, especially in night. My question is can I push the configure button on the translator to calibrate the sensors without affecting the wireless monitor setup? I don’t want to have to deal with Brinks again. Is there a solution to this false alarm issue? Thanks

Any info on upgrading a FAP SK5208 to a wireless satellite call out instead of a phone connection.

Just remember that wireless can be remotely jammed, and if the signal goes to some remote location using wireless, it can be radio jammed.

Any tutorial on how to connect sixc2wa converters for command panels?

ADT command is locked out by ADT unless they provide you with the installer code.

What’s the transmission range between the 5800C2W and panel ? Do I need the 5881 receiver to accept the signal ?
@dylanalarm_grid10384 жыл бұрын
Most of the 5800 Series devices have a nominal transmitting range of about 200 feet. If you're using the 5800C2W for converting your wired system to wireless, the new panel should have a built in wireless receiver. If you're attempting to use the C2W with your wired system, as a zone expander of sorts, then you'll need a wireless receiver such as the 5881.

I have a old Bosch D6412. 16 years old. Can this be converted ?
@joshuagriffin28072 жыл бұрын
it can the converters take the hardwired sensors and convert them to wireless. With bosh the wireless will not pull over.

What no converter for Napco Gemini?
@AlarmGrid3 жыл бұрын
There may be one, but we don't sell the Napco panels, so we're not familiar with it if there is one. The new PROA7PLUS panel offers a wireless to wireless converter, but Napco is not one of the manufacturers it works for. Napco uses 319.5MHz, but their serial number configuration is a bit different than any of the other wireless sensors. This may be why.

An ADT Tech came and "upgraded" our wired system because ADT said it was mandatory. Now my wired window and door sensors do not work. What type of converter do I need to ask for in order to further use my wired sensors?

@Gary Well, the keypad was changed to the ADT 'Command 7" touchscreen. Not sure what they changed in the panel in my closet :(

ADTs converters only hold 8 zones so if you have more than 8 hardwire contacts then you'll need another converter
