Cool SCOOTER! I was a scooterist for 33 years. I own a 1985 Honda Elite 150,.....I bought it brand new in 1985. It was so cool, fun and practical if the weather was good. It was highway legal, too. Top speed: 65 mph. I never rode it on the highway, except twice, to see if it could go as fast, as advertised. It did.

I have the same glass cutter in my art framing studio. Two suggestions, get the glass cutter mounted to the wall, and the cutter will perform better if you cut CLEAN gkass. Enjoying your channel alot!
@Davett53

I concur. I was a professional picture framer, for 25 years. The shop I worked out of had the glass cutter and that frame platform mounted to the wall. Keeping everything clean and dust & grit free was essential. Glass cutters are cheap enough, to replace often. A light touch is all that is needed, when scoring the glass. A tiny dab of light oil, on the cutting wheel, is useful, too.

I too, have used one of those glass cutters and these guys are offering solid advice. Ours was in a hardware store and we were always taught to score the glass only once, DO NOT drag the glass cutter over a previous score as it will dull it quickly. we were dealing with new glass but still made sure it was given a wipe to clean the surface being cut. love the channel!

We were thinking a rolling vertical mount since the building is so big. But one way or another it needs to be upright.

I noticed on one of your floors that there is a round weight for an exercise weight bar, you could try laying that on the glass for weight. Or, built a box with 1*x2, or 2x4, to build up the void in the class cutter area to support the overhang.. Or, use a clamp of some kind to hold the glass to the cutting board..

That was a quick 37 min... Chris have you checked on the status of the other nearby Buster Brown bldg.. That would be great if you could get some of the hardware and wooden beams out of that bldg before it's destroyed.. If you have power in your tool room, get someone to build you a charging station for all your batteries..So you always have charged batteries when needed... Chris thx for bringing us along on another adventure of the Buster Brown bldg.. See you next week... Take care my friend and God Bless.... I was reading the comments and noticed that someone suggested rolling your gloves up to keep bugs and spiders out of them.. Well, after living in Florida for many years I got used to things like that, so I put my gloves in a freezer zip lock bag..No problem with critters getting in them when I did that..

@@brickandsole You wouldn't want to sit on anything treated with creosote, it could stain your clothes. Not sure if any finish would stick to it. I'm 99% sure in the entire EU anything treated with creosote is required to be disposed of as toxic waste, the only legal uses left are railway sleepers and electricity/telephone poles, and that includes reclaimed materials (i.e. you aren't allowed to use any of these materials in your garden). Regulations in your area might be different but I'd be careful not to introduce anything that might cause massive headaches later if they ever happened to change. Get a sliver tested and if it's creosote, better get rid of everything. Disposing of hazardous materials rarely gets cheaper over time.

There's gotta be a cart of some sort in the building, shopping or otherwise, I suggest you use one for frequently used tools that you can roll around the building to wherever you are working. Prioritize getting that glass cutter mounted vertically as others suggested, it will make the glass work faster and easier! I would get that on some kind of cart too!

There supposed to be a railing on the other end of the cutting head, also the cutting head pressure may be too high. The scoring of the glass is not supposed to be real heavy. Put some silicone on the tubes that guides the scoring head.

For metal detection get the Garrett wand. They've been at this for decades and know how to build the darn things. Go slowly over the wood (don't go fast like a TSA screener lol). That's some nice wood - there has to be test kits to determine what it was treated with. I personally would have been disinclined to mention that those gutters are copper. LOTS of copper thieves out there. The church a friend of mine went to had all the copper gutters stolen in one night. They were 60' or more off the ground. Which gives me an idea for you. Since something has to happen with that power feed anyway, have a gutter guy come out and quote the structural repair AND new gutters. There has to be a product that looks like the old ones. Then, YOU salvage the copper. Or, find out the going rate and ask the gutter guy to knock it off the price. Just a thought. Glad you finally have a tool/work room set up. Someone, has been a good influence on you......

somethings about the glass cutting, clean your glass, also clean your glass cutter and oil the tracks so it slide smoother, and Yes it will work better if its standing up, or if you make some supports for the glass when its laying flat, you don't want to put pressure on the glass while you are cutting, its better to support the whole piece of glass.

Creosote for building structures was a slightly different formula, a bit thinner and pressure applied a bit different than lets says todays railroad ties. It soaked in much easier and it soaked in much deeper. Once creosote is in the wood, it is not coming out. Plane it and make a workbench out of it and them paint over it is about all you can do to it, to repurpose it.
