Quick overview and mod of the Convoy S2+ flashlight. This is a great lower priced titanium light with good ergos, features and a Nichia 519A emitter.

I've been using a Convoy flashlight for several years and you can use the gap near the tailcap for a pocket clip, either a one-way pocket clip or a two-way pocket clip for the Convoy S21A, but most Convoy users prefer a pocket clip that screws onto the tailcap. Some reviewers have measured the output of the S2+ 519A 4500K aluminum version and got around 1000 lumens at 100% (About 900 lumens for ANSI numbers) after which it slowly steps down to around 450 lumens and stays there until the battery runs out. The titanium host is worse than aluminum at dissipating heat so at 100% the output will step down faster than the aluminum version.

For new users who don't know much about Convoy flashlights, I think the Convoy T3 is much better because it comes with a pocket clip and uses AA/14500 batteries. The Convoy T3 is also available in glossy titanium, stone washed titanium, circuit board pattern titanium, copper and of course aluminum in several colors + MAO

This might sound crazy but I remember when the T3 came out, it was very popular and looks like a good size (I love AA lights) but I'm just not a fan of the angular milling. Something about it just bothers me, maybe they will do a gen 2 version that looks better I don't know tho. I do like the extra battery capacity of an 18650 but yeah the size of a good 14500 light is fantastic.

It looks like swapping the ends just put the gap on the front end but maybe it’s just from this perspective.?. Isn’t that gap designed so the pocket clip clip’s in flush? Just curious b/c I’m about to order one myself. Thanks…

KZbin told me I could upload a short as a reply so I tried, not sure if it worked but it is uploaded somewhere 😂. As far as I know the pocket clip (not included) is fastened to the tail cap with 2 small nuts and bolts. In my Short I made an attempt to highlight the gap between 2 different S2+ lights. Even if you don't mind the gap, you will enjoy the light at this price point and especially if you get your hands on a 519a version it's such a good performer 🏆
