Sheppards pie in New England, more so where I grew up in Maine, is literally cooked ground beef, corn and mashed potatoes, along with a veggie on the side. My great aunt who came off the boat fron Ireland, made hers with lamb, more veggies and in a gravy, topped with potatoes.

Here in Australia it’s shepherds pie when using lamb mince and cottage pie when it’s beef. If you use venison I’m not sure what it’s called... we can’t call it Hunter pie as that’s taken... maybe forest pie? If I were to use kangaroo, I’d have to call it skippy pie 🤣 I don’t typically cook ground roo though. It has a metallic taste when over cooked so it’s best as a steak/fillet and cooked lightly... anyway, I digress lol. Great video as always 👏🏻

My hubby is such a pig. I saw your first meal, and thought, well thats enough to feed me and him, for one meal, and he'll want snacks after, and dinner later... He eats half a skillet of food, and says he's still hungry... men... lol. I have to cook like I'm cooking for an army to have enough to feed him, and have leftovers. Chicken tacos are a snack for my man. Oh how I wish I could serve soup for dinner, he always complains that soup is never filling. Everything looks delicious tho, and I'll definitely have to try that roasted garlic trick! Oh, and for the potroast did you brown it first, then cook it? How long did you brown in on saute before cooking if so?

Hi Lisa, greetings from Western Australia. When cooking mashed potatoes, I peel about 3 cloves of garlic to about 6 medium potatoes and boil the garlic in with the potatoes and salt. (I don't chop the garlic, just take the skins off). Cook as normal, drain n leave a little of the cooking water in the pot (this has flavour) add butter and milk. Works every time. Ps atm my hands are sore with arthritis so I'm not even peeling the potatoes just chopping and boiling
