FYI, -TIP when venting. You can even put a wet, rung out wash cloth, fold in half, over the vent. This will help keep all that steam from hitting low ceilings, cabinets, etc. I saw this trick elsewhere and it works great. I do this myself.

The only problem is I have heard from many people who have actually gotten steam burns from doing it that way for just a few pennies you could get an actual diverter and it doesn’t get wet like a towel

Love you Chef AJ! I was 70 before I began using instapots/pressure because I was afraid and stubborn. I use two every day now for artichokes, beans, lentils, potatoes, oatmeal, soup. Thanks for all you do 💜.

Yes, you can lower the heat on the sauté setting. Press sauté after setting it to sauté and you can do less, normal or more.

Where?
@MSchipper8 күн бұрын
@@CHEFAJ You press the sauté button multiple times. It starts at 'normal' setting (the middle bar underneath the time), press again it goes to 'high' (the bar at the right lights up), and press again, it goes to 'low' (the bar at the left ligbts up).

My go to for cooking potatoes. 5 minutes on high pressure. Release pressure after a few minutes. If I forget and give it a few more minutes - no biggie.
@ronnieb.hudson260410 күн бұрын
Just an FYI, not all instant pots have the ability to be set to 0 minutes. The newer ones don’t and the lowest time you can set it for is 1 minute.
